I need study tips

I'm studying for yet another license and I am having the worst time concentrating. Does anyone have any tips to stay focused? Maybe I should log off the Org? lol

logging off org: thumbs up!

when i was writing my novel thingie last month, i would unhook my laptop and go write in bed so i wouldn't have the temptation of the intrawebs interrupting me...and it worked really well. coffee shops are good too, especially at night. just take your headphones and some music and a laptop and do your thing.

it's hard for me to really focus when i have access to:

* internet
* my tchotchkes/toys
* my dvds
* my books
* friends (unless they're trying to focus too)

if you ever wanna come out to my nabe for a study date, i'm always happy to sit in a coffee shop and write for a few hours! we can get all comfy at one of the tables and spend the day ignoring each other. lol

i'd give you some study tips, but i just remembered: when i was in school i never really did any studying. i just paid attention as much as i could while i was busy doodling on my folders or something. giggle

the best advice i can give you is to study in a room where there's the least stimuli--no teevee, no radio...and no org (log off now, dammit! evillol).

good luck! hug

If you can, go into a room with no internet access, tv or radio to avoid temptation.

Oh hell, that wouldn't even work for me.

I guess I really dunno what to suggest but good luck on your test.

TRUE STORY:

i once did an acting class scene in college with a girl who wrote all her lines on the props, and when we did the scene, every time she had a line, she'd pause and go reaching for a glass or a book or a fan or something. i had NO idea she was going to do this, but we were busted within two minutes, she was instantly flunked, and i had to re-do a scene from another play with another partner within, like, a week. mad

Well, just don't forget to write it upside down.

Or if the test is A, B, C, od D answers, you could always get some smart guy to do the pencil tap thing for ya.

Say you get stuck on quest number 7 tap 7 times.

Then he does, 1 tap for A, 2 for B, 3 for C, 4 for D.

When I was in grad school I had to study at the library or I wouldn't get anything done. My apartment had too many distractions: cable TV, snacks, telephone, internet, music...

Because I wasn't a student at that university I couldn't get wireless access at their library so I wouldn't be distracted by the internet. I would sit far away from the public computer terminals. And also b/c there is no food in the library I wasn't distracted by "snacks" biggrin

I brought ear plugs too, to block out annoying whisperers from other study-ers.. (I'm not a listen to music when I study kinda girl. I have to have silence.)

Good luck with your license!
