"It's all about containment". Tha Tuna will mix it up, run and pass blitzes. As for Reggie, everyone knows this guy is a pure athlete. Maybe he can help us out with some mental mistakes , a fumble or 2,or3 . I have much respect for Peyton. He should have been the next head coach for Da'Boy's. I have much love for N.O.. This team will only get better, with the young talent on this team. I like the receivers: Colston, Henderson, Horn, and Copper who was released by the Cowboys. The defense will suffer without Thomas in the middle. Hell, there are quite a few ex-Cowboys on this team coaching and playing. But yes. I agree it has the making's of a good game. Seahawks at Cardinals - Game Preview
SEAHAWKS at CARDINALS The Seattle Seahawks (8-4) travel to Glendale, Arizona, and take on the Cardinals (3-9) in the Seahawks first-ever game at University of Phoenix Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1:05 p.m. PT. The Seahawks have an opportunity to clinch their third-consecutive NFC West title this week with a win over the Cardinals and a loss by next week’s opponent, the San Francisco 49ers. The Seahawks and Cardinals both won on the road last week. Seattle used Josh Brown’s NFL record-tying fourth game-winning field goal of the season, a 50-yarder, to win at Denver 23-20. The Cardinals went into St. Louis and defeated the Rams by two touchdowns, 34-20. After a 21-10 win in Week 2 earlier this season over the Cardinals, the Seahawks have won the last four meetings and seven of the last eight. Seattle leads the all-time series 8-7. In this year’s prior game on September 17, Seattle sacked Kurt Warner five times and Darrell Jackson caught five passes for 127 yards and a touchdown. Since joining the NFC West in 2002, Seattle is 7-2 versus the team from the Valley of the Sun. Before 2002, Seattle had only won one game in six attempts versus the Cardinals. Seattle swept both games in 2005 to complement a perfect 6-0 division record. Seattle won 37-12 on September 25 at Qwest Field before winning 33-19 in Arizona on November 6. In the first game last season, Shaun Alexander rushed for 140 yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries. At Arizona he kept up the pace, totaling a season-high 173 yards and two touchdowns, one of which tied his own club record of 88 yards. This week’s game once again features two head coaches that are very familiar with each other. Mike Holmgren and Dennis Green both coached in San Francisco from 1986-88. Holmgren was quarterbacks coach and Green coached wide receivers before leaving to become head coach of the Stanford Cardinal for three seasons. From 1992-98, Holmgren (Green Bay Packers) and Green (Minnesota Vikings) coached against each other when both were head coaches in the NFC Central. Holmgren was 5-9 in those 14 meetings. Including the last two seasons, this will be the 20th all-time meeting between these coaches, with Green 10-9 in those games. However, Holmgren is 7-3 in the last 10 contests dating back to 1997. After leading the NFL in sacks with 50 last season, through 12 games this season Seattle is on pace to better that total. The Seahawks are third in the NFL in 2006 with 39. Opponents don’t know where to expect the pressure to come from. Thirteen different players have contributed to the total - with 23.5 from the defensive line, 12.5 from linebackers, and 2.0 from the defensive backs. LB Julian Peterson leads the pack with a career-high 9, followed by Bryce Fisher and Grant Wistrom with 4 each. Since the beginning of 2005, only San Diego has registered more sacks than Seattle. Date: Sunday, December 10 Kickoff: 1:15 pm PT Record: Seahawks 8-4 Cardinals 3-9 Series: Seahawks lead 8-7 TV: FOX (Ch. 13 in Seattle) Thom Brennaman (play-by-play) Charles Davis (analyst) Barry Alvarez (analyst) Radio: KIRO (710 am) Steve Raible (play-by-play) Warren Moon (analysis) Akemi Takei (sideline reports) (Seahawks Radio Network) Next Week: Seahawks vs. 49ers Qwest Field (Thursday night - Dec. 14) | |

NFL Preview: Seattle at Arizona
NFL.com wire reports GLENDALE, Ariz. (Dec. 6, 2006) -- The Seattle Seahawks are on the verge of winning their third consecutive division title. Mike Holmgren's offense, however, isn't clicking like the coach hoped it would. The Seahawks (8-4) will look to get their offense running more smoothly against one of the worst defenses in the league when they visit the Arizona Cardinals (3-9) on Dec. 10. Seattle has won four straight against Arizona, including a 21-10 victory in Week 2 when it gained 341 yards. The Seahawks have totaled more than 300 yards only five other times this season after surpassing the 300-yard mark in 13 games last season with the top offense in the NFC. The Seahawks have been without quarterback Matt Hasselbeck and running back Shaun Alexander for stretches of this season due to injuries, but the duo has been back for the past two games, and Holmgren has still been troubled with the team's results. In its 23-20 victory against Denver last week, Seattle had only two first downs and 67 total yards at halftime. The Seahawks went three-and-out six times in their first eight possessions and 3-for-16 on third-down conversions. Seattle benefited from five Broncos turnovers, including two interceptions from rookie Jay Cutler in his debut -- one of which was returned for a touchdown. "I trust and hope that our best offensive football is ahead of us," Holmgren said. "We have a ways to go. ... This is a work in progress. It's been a season like that. And there's no reason to think it's not going to be one of those years. "And if we can ever get there, then we will have something good going." Edgerrin James finally hit the 100-yard mark in Arizona's victory in St. Louis. Holmgren has reason to be encouraged, as his team is 5-0 with both Hasselbeck and Alexander in the lineup. He also has his club on the verge of clinching the NFC West, as a Seahawks victory against Arizona and a San Francisco loss to Green Bay would secure the division title. A tie would give the Seahawks the crown if the 49ers, who will visit Seattle on Thursday, Dec. 14, lose and St. Louis loses or ties against Chicago. Since Arizona joined the NFC West in the division's realignment in 2002, the Seahawks have won seven of nine against the Cardinals. Seattle has 18 rushing touchdowns in those nine matchups; Arizona has had only two. The Cardinals are allowing the sixth-most points in the league (23.7 points per game), and the fourth-most yards (371.3). In their past seven losses to Seattle, they gave up an average of 29.7 points and 361.1 yards. Alexander rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown against the Cardinals earlier this season, and has 556 yards and 10 TDs during the four-game winning streak against Arizona. The Cardinals defeated St. Louis 34-20 on Dec. 3 and have won two of their last three after starting 1-8. Matt Leinart threw for 186 yards, Edgerrin James had his first 100-yard game with Arizona and Marcel Shipp scored three touchdowns. "We're hitting our stride a little bit," Leinart said. "We stop ourselves sometimes, but when we can run the ball effectively like we did, that's scary. The offensive line is doing a great job." The Cardinals matched their highest point total of the season against the Rams. They're averaging 355.3 yards of offense over their past three games. "Once we get Matt to playing more and Matt gets more experience, this offense is going to be ridiculous because you won't be able to key in on what we're doing," said James, who rushed for 115 yards on 26 carries in St. Louis. "Teams have been keying in on what we've been doing, because they knew we were limited in what we could do. But as we go on, and as Matt grows, watch how this offense grows." James rushed for 64 yards on 18 carries in the season's first meeting with the Seahawks as the Cardinals gained 256 yards of offense. The Cardinals have not won back-to-back games since Nov. 7 and 14, 2004. INJURIES: Seattle DOUBTFUL OLB D.D.
