who watches A&E's "INTERVENTION"??

This show is killing me right now, really interesting nod

The people involved agree to be in a doc about addiction but they have no idea an intervention will take place. I think they only air episodes where the offer of treatment is accepted - most make it through treatment & turn their lives around.

I've only seen one guy who totally fucked it up & it was heartbreaking. He has 2 young daughters who ADORE him, he was in the NBA making good money, etc. He & his wife have divorced, he was homeless & doing crack. He did agree to go to treatment (after having them bring his kids into the room & help him decide neutral why expose them to that???) but he ultimately left the facility sad The woman who owns the facility even tracked this fool down & offered him treatment AGAIN @ no cost!!! worship But he stayed a week & then bailed, nobody's heard from him disbelief The producer even asked him why he was so worried about the safety of his new girlfriend (some 22 year old fellow addict) & NOT the wellbeing of his children - he said, "they have their daddy! I'm making my way back to them." chair

But like I said most make it through (the ones they show, at least) despite some relapses & they turn their shit around. It's pretty inspiring in the end - to see how fucked up it can get for people & know that they have it in them to get help (even if it's forced) & live clean again.

Check it out... smile

I hear you, but they're much cheaper than they used to be. $99 gets you an 80 hour dvr... with a rebate, but still shrug

SEE! lol Dammit woman, I'm trying to entertain you! I got drinks on one thread, good tv on another - work with me!! lol hug

Plus you don't even have to pay the service fee unless you want to - with the service fee ($12.95/mo) you get tv listings 2 weeks in advance. But if you choose not to you get listings 3 days in advance - I'd rather have 3 days than no Tivo nod biggrin

I saw that one. The f'd up part is that his wife would've gone through just about anything for him. His daughters too. Did you see the episode with the habitual gambler? When he tried to get his moms car keys from the ignition? That was ker-ay-zay. I think dude was just too smart for his own good. It was kinda funny when his family and friends were being all calm and rational during the intervention, and kept he spazzing out. And then the song that he wrote at the end. I know its not supposed to be funny, but my side was hurting by the end of the show.

I just started watching it this year.

The one on Sunday really had me sinking in my seat.

The drunk mom.

That was really messed up she took her drunk self all the way up to the school and her kids werent there.
And her chubby cheeks mom should have just left the liquor in her dresser lol

This is the kind of TV that I like. Television that actually means something instead of just worthless filler entertainment.

I've got a dream of becoming a psychologist, and this show just reenforces it even more. Wonderfully gripping, moving stuff.

OMG, that gambler dude has got to be the most self centered mf on the planet!! lol And you weren't the only one laughing @ his little song @ the end disbelief

I think his dream of going to Hollywood to "make it" is what fucked him up. Yea he was super smart but how do you translate rapping in a college course to stardom?? confused He's just a bizarre, unreasonable dude. I felt so bad for his parents - its the ultimate selfish thing, to destroy yourself & constantly depend on others to help prop you up hammer
