Nuh-uh! She looks great! That's not very nice. Why do you say that? She was actually a grade younger than me. It's not her face, it's what she's wearing. She's dressed as if she's trying to be a middle-aged southern belle. I still think she looks lovely. We just all make bad fashion choices now and again. |

I was very shy and this guy (the one in the pic) was the weird "outcast" at the school I guess. We went together as a joke actually, because no one could ever have imagined us together for one thing, plus all "cleaned up" and in formal clothes. It sort of caused a stir when we arrived at prom in fact because everyone was shocked that we even came. We started dating after that. I'm surprised to read that, because back then people's popularity seemed to be based solely on their looks and that guy looks like a typical prettyboy and you're obviously beautiful. You must have really screwed up in one way or another to become an outcast.

I was the shy, loner, punk rock/ska type girl and that never usually equals popular or pretty in school all that often. So just the fact that I'm in a formal dress was just weird to me and to everyone. Forrest was very good looking. His odd personality though made most people shy away from him. He was always arguing with our history teacher (we met in history class) about what we were being taught and he would go off on these loud rants that would get him in trouble. He was very political, hippy-ish, and it was difficult to have a normal conversation with him. And this was in a very liberal art school in San Francisco, which really tells you something. Even so, the school still had the tradtional, normal "popular" kids and all that, just like any other school does. Oh and as for the outcast thing with me, I DID fit in better in San Francisco (where this prom pic is from) than the school I went to before that in Minneapolis. God I hated it there. Our homecoming queen was downright homely, if you ask me. It was more about if you wore a certain kind of clothes, and if you had money and beyond that how you could get in good with whoever else was popular. And a guy just had to be in sports. Most of them weren't good looking either. |

I remember that back when I had "rebellious" clothes I used to feel liberated to dress up once in a while, just as when I had to wear a suit to work more recently the first thing I did when I came home was to put on my most ragged old t-shirt and bum around in my boxers.

Most of them weren't good looking either. That sounds so weird to me since I grew up in a completely different culture. Where I'm from it's not looked kindly upon if you have money or if you're fashionable. Several kids tried to bully me at school because my parents had two cars instead of just one or none. Man, I got into so many fistfights back then, and it was almost always to defend myself against those that hated me for any extra square meters our house might be or whatever. And we were by no means rich! So I guess since people always have to have some shallow thing to get caught up in, they settled for looks instead. Your popularity was almost always in direct correlation to your looks, which of course is no better than when people are praised for their money.

Well, right there during that time of the prom pic, and before that as well, I was deep in training to be a ballet dancer. My whole life actually, since I was 8. I was very much into punk and ska music as well as a teenager, but I had sort of a "double" life. In my later classes in school I had 2 and a half hours of dance class there, and then immediately after school I'd take the bus to my ballet academy and train for another 3 and a half hours. I was obsessed. So the main reason I say I hated how I looked back then, stems from me always thinking I was really fat and always trying to lose weight. It absolutely ruled my life and also made me really shy I think. That's a whoe different subject though. For some reason lately I can't get my scanner to scan a picture without a bunch of dust and smudges. I think they're under the glass at this point, cuz I've cleaned this thing endlessly. Anyway, this one turned out pretty well. Makes me smile when I look at it. Me at my high school senior prom. Wow, she is pretty. She looks older than you though.

I didn't go to the prom because there were not any good looking girls left to go with. They were already taken.

You still haven't told anyone. What nationality are you? What color is your hair? How tall are you? How much do you weigh? Why don't you post a picture of yourself so I can tell how mutherfuckin' ugly you are? I'm really sick of your shit.
