thank you!
i recommend it to anyone who is interested in writing - this was my third go'round and my first time winning. i really put some effort into it this year, and put other things to the side in order to get writing time in every day. to be honest, i don't really like the story i wrote, but it was still a good experience in that i tried different methods and approaches to writing that i've never tried before, and it made the process of writing a story quite a bit easier for me this time around. i can't wait to start another story - i'm already putting notes together for it. the goal is to complete something that i'm actually excited for other people to read!

So how long you been writing? What inspired you to write? As for me I used to read books a lot when I was younger and that got me interest in writing? I am aspired writer too and I usually write for young adults but at the same time I don't limited myself to one genre. well congrats to you though. [Edited 12/5/06 8:14am]

I am aspired writer too and I usually write for young adults but at the same time I don't limited myself to one genre. well congrats to you though. [Edited 12/5/06 8:14am] i've been writing since i was a very little boy. i've always been writing stories. when i was little it was a way to entertain myself, because i was an only child and the only way i could share my imagination with people was to get it on paper and show it when people would visit. reading, too. i was big on lloyd alexander when i was a kid. i wanted to write stuff like his 'book of three' series. i still have his books. my favorite authors now are people like douglas coupland, william burroughs, nick hornby, dave eggers and bret easton ellis. they all seem to have a lot of fun with their writing, and that's where i want to get with what i do. sometimes i feel like a moron because i don't like more classical or "serious" writers...i admire a lot of the headier stuff i've read. but - i write because it's enjoyable, and i like reading work by people who seem to be enjoying themselves. i don't consider myself well-versed in literature. i just know what makes me happy when i'm reading it. anyway - thank you. and good luck!
