I have an older brother named Sean, and once when my mom was REALLY pissed at my sister and me, she yelled, "Sean is worth thirteen of you."

She regretted that one for a long, long time.

When I found out why my parents were divorcing my freshman year of high school and knew why (dad cheated) and I asked him why. His response.
"I can bullshit you all I want son, but i just love the pussy and your moms not giving me enough!" mad

i know, and i love her to death... but she won't be there to give me away at my own wedding... out of 6 kids, only one is actually married, i'll be the 2nd, and the last...

and i thought i was going to make something for myself in school
it took a total of 9 major awards and a scholarship to make her see the same..

sigh

"making something of yourself" is all relative, hon hug ...for example, to me you HAVE made something of yourself I think you're an amazing young woman with a beautiful, bright future ahead of her (and no, I'm not just being nice wink) if making something of yourself means wealth and career? ask yourself what your innermost priorities are... I'm willing to bet your happiness in the future will come from within and flow outwards like it is now wink

That if I kept doing "that", I would go blind.

Needless to say, I'm reading all these posts by running my fingers across the screen.
It's also why I try to stay away from the P&R forum.

Well, let’s see… that would have to be when mother dear told me she wasn’t my mother (insinuating that she was actually my stepmother) and to pack all of my shit, be out of her house by the time she gets out of the shower and she didn’t want to see any trace indicating that I was ever there and for dear ol’dad it has to be when he told me he believed the lie his mother told him (yes he knew it was a lie) and that I had to get the fuck out of his house.

They can be stubborn sometimes.. My Grandparents didnt approve of my Mum getting married to my Dad, but they have been married 38 years and proved her parents wrong, so I know Sammi, it may hurt at present, but if you truly believe and know you will are doing the right thing, and he is the man for you, your parents will come around in time hug rose

I had just dropped 20 pounds and my mom and i were talking. She told me I wouldn't make it in my field because I was too heavy. But you know, I guess I've gotten too old to give a shit when she trips. It's the whole control your reaction because you can't control the bullshit that comes out of her mouth.

But when I dropped that 50 pounds, she didn't have shit to say. It is what it is, no need to be pissed. You'll find that as you get older, you don't give a shit...that's to the young folk on the GD thread.

I've quite well in my field, by the way wink
