I had one friend who was gay and let me know, and this was only after about a year of becoming best friends. He's in one of the pictures i posted, but I won't say which one, but he had real issues with it. He eventually ended up pulling a brokeback mountain routine and is currently married with a child.

I didn't know what to say to him, or how to advise him. He had so many emotional issues and he was a "me person" so we kind of let it be at that. I wish him the best.

what would really trip you out, though, is how open some are about it these days...and contrary to the impression, the Army doesn't arbitrarily put anyone out....its still a situation of either someone comes forward and admits to being gay....or is "caught" in a compromising situation....I can't speak for the whole Army, obviously, but I know as a former EO rep that we can't just go on word of mouth....

I used to frequent two gay clubs in Tampa which were known for the DJs (the rave scene was big in the mid 90s here). And we'd always see others from base there, but those guys weren't there to "dance and rave away". They were there for ass.
