applekisses said: Anx said: guess we just have to make two batches and compare. Can you make it with that all-natural peanut butter? That's the only kind I use....also, what sorts of chex do you use? I wouldn't. Any time I've used natural peanut butter in recipes, they don't turn out right. I think that recipes calling for peanut butter are created using peanut butter that is filled with chemicals (partially hydrogenated oil). If you are going to use natural peanut butter in recipes, it would throw the sugar and fat meausurements off.

A friend of ours had one of these Chow dogs, and it was really crabby and would attack you when you least expected it. They're cute when they're little, but they're beasts when they're full grown.

Natural peanut butter isn't as solid as the fake stuff. But since there's chocolate in this recipe that will harden up, maybe it won't be so bad.

OMG. I used to make that stuff all the time in Chicago and bring it into work around the holidays. It was my "specialty" lol. People on the east coast don't really seem to like it as much...I brought it to work last year and no one ate it.
I use Crispex cereal though too, milk chocolate chips; and I've never added vanilla...and I go easy on the powdered sugar--just a dusting. (My mom adds so much the shit is white!) Applekisses, I use reduced fat Peanut Butter and not much powdered sugar (not that it makes a huge diff, but maybe shaves a few calories off). [Edited 12/1/06 14:43pm]

It has to be able to absorb and trap the peanut butter and sugar, so no.
