PrintableI might have been seven or nine. KJR had a contest for drawing a contest of an "Artesian".
...or it might have been Olympia Beer (i think!) which was made with pure Artesian well water. Anyhow, I was sick at home a lot so I could listen to "Dancin' Danny Wright" and play Jacks on the hardwood floors (it was the 70's, no pong yet). So I drew a picture of an alien, and I won an Olympia Beer T-shirt. I have to admit, my alien picture was robbed. I had one of those drawing kits where you 'create' the monster picture from 3 different plates (head & shoulders, torso, legs) by shading a piece of paper placed over the ridges on the plate. Though I drew the picture, I copied from the plates. The shirt was adult sized, and sat in a drawer until my teens. "I got the devil in me, girl." - 'John the Baptist', Afghan Whigs

Within 3 weeks, I won Sade's Greatest Hits CD and two tickets to a Russ Freeman & the Rippingtons concert..... 
never won shit again.....  He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.

I won a set of three Marilyn Monroe films when the Illinois Lottery had some Marilyn themed ticket...I had to answer some trivia questions about her. | |

I didn't know what 5 to 10 was...I thought it was like a new group or a CD or something. I was just calling to request a song and what do you know I won. Well they told me to come down and get 5 to 10...they wouldn't tell me what it was... I got to the station and 2 guys proceeded to beat my monkey ass for 5 to 10 minutes...
