I guess what I want to know is why?

Your skin doesn't appear to show any signs of sun damage (the reason why you would seek one).

If you're looking to clear your complection, try a good fasting program, or a detox program. hug

I know a few girls that use it. It worked for all of them.

I wouldn't get a chemical peel...yet.

Thank God, I knew you'd get here.

Okay. I'll let ya know how it works.

I used to be in a private thread on another site where a bunch of girls were talking about it. All thought it was great.

Peels are more for sun damage like sunspots and acne scars. I don't think you need it.

Well, mostly but younger people with bad acne scars get it as well.

Have you seen what your face looks like right after a peel? You look like someone threw boiling water on your face.

Oh, yeah, I want immediate action, I don't want tomatoe face for a couple days or anything.

I'll just get the proactive, and maybe some botox. biggrin

The easiest way I can think of describing the difference between the two is Botox paralyzes muscles that create fine lines and Restylane plumps up the fine lines.

my cousin had a chemical peel because her dermatologist recommended it to her. It really tore up her face and made everything look worse right after it was done and then after it 'healed', or whatever it does, there was no visible improvement. shrug

She also had microdermabrasion done and that turned out pretty much the same way.

I think that Oil of Olay has some products that are suppose to act like a chemical peel or microdermabrasion but are far more gentle. Or maybe you just need to use Oil of Olay's Total Effects or Regenerist Serum.

shrug

Most places that do this have a free consultation. They will recommend what they think is best for you. There are other things, other than a straight up chemical peel.
Its never too early to start taking care of your skin.

do some research first. I've heard horror stories of chemical peels making things way, way worse, making your pores much larger, etc.

neutral Oh. Well how 'bout the proactive? Do you think I just wasted my money?

I used Proactive for a couple of years when I was a teen. I had a serious acne problem, and had tried many different methods to get rid of it. Unfortunately, Proactive wasn't a huge help, because my skin got used to it and it stopped working after a while. I loved the scrub and the toner, but the lotion bleached anything it came in contact with (Including towels, the blue carpet in my bedroom, and even strands of my hair!) I don't know what they put in that stuff, but it was hardcore. If you don't have realy bad skin, it will probably work a lot better for you than it did for me.

I used ProActiv for awhile and it worked! I only stopped because I was using more of one thing than another, I wasn't needing all that they were shipping me (you can't just order as needed, at least that's how it used ot be, they make you receive product every certain number of days). And so I decided to try other things that were maybe a little less expensive and on my own terms as far as how much I got and how long I used it.

Oh, and my mom had a chemical peel. But the really intense one, where they go down layers and layers of skin, not the series of ones where they just blast your face at lunchtime. But I've heard pretty good things about the results of those, as far as skin looking smoother, better coloring, etc.
