Housequake, I may have to revise/rethink my disagreement with you about this, eh? big grin

So far 3-0 - though anything can happen in between time.

So I have to still stick with my opinion that the Pats won't win the Super Bowl again this season, but at the same time...at least at this point they're better than most people thought.

The Pats have kinda surprised me as well as they're doing.
We'll see how they look in a month. Too worried bout my Niners
messing up (Denver whooped em pretty good).

I notice the author of this thread hasn't come to the rescue of
his Steelers evillol

Donny my man..
you might want to go & find the receipt for that crystal you bought that told you the Steelers were going to win the Super Bowl this year..

The Steelers definitely have talent, but they can't keep their opponents from passing on them..
the Raiders threw what,
EIGHTY PASSES
against them & completed HALF of them???

I do feel sorry for Kordell, though.
I HATE how these coaches tell these "black" QB's: "stay in the pocket, don't scramble, you have to be a 'pocket passer' for us to win.."
WHAT THE FUCK?
Look at Randall Cunningham when he 1st became a starter: he ran all over the field & nobody could defend against him, his brain, his arm or his feet.. but then somebody kept telling him "Randall, stay in the pocket, throw the ball!"
yeah..
Randall stayed in the pocket against the Packers in Week 1 of the '91 season, fucked up his knee & was GONE FOR THE SEASON.

Randall was still a solid QB, but never the same after that bullshit.

Kordell was called "Slash" when he 1st started getting real playing time for the Steelers because he was a triple threat every time he had the ball. Defenses couldn't account for or defend all the things he could do with the ball..
but again, Cowher (&/or whoever) told him "Kordell, stay in the pocket" when you know Kordell wants to run! They did a jhedi mind trick on him- now he himself believes that "I gotta stay in the pocket" shit..!

Kordell, nigga..
IF YOU CAN RUN & GET 20 YARDS ON THE PLAY
JUST DO IT!

Did anyone keep saying to Steve Young "stay in the pocket"?

Does anyone criticize Favre when he scrambles?
No! Then, it's "oh, what a great play by Brett!"

Somebody's trying to get in my boy McNabb's head with that same "stay in the pocket" shit.. McNabb is TOO ATHLETICALLY gifted to sit in the pocket like that! If he can run, if he wants to run..
LET HIM RUN!!!

I DARE Dan Reeves (or anybody else in Atl) to tell
MICHEAL VICK
"oh Michael, stay in the pocket, make it easier for the defense to stop us"..
Dan Reeves has been in football for too many years & he is NOT dumb.
Right now, Vick is just running & throwing the ball, kind of like how when Shaq came into the league & all he did was dunk (& miss free throws) during his Orlando days, but then Shaq got some SERIOUS game, &
NOBODY
can stop Shaq now!
It's going to be the same for Vick in 2 or 3 years..
once he learns how to read defenses, once he can call audibles & whatnot, he's going to be UNSTOPPABLE. Nobody really knows how GREAT this dude can be..

just let him keep running!

& Kordell needs to tune out those Steeler fans who are FICKLE, he needs to be more like "Slash" again & handle his business..
the Steelers have too much talent to not (at least) win their division this year..
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

Excellent points in this post. I agree with you 100% on
the black QBs staying in the pocket mentality hurts them
trememendously.

it was too late (concussions)

You may be on to a conspiracy theory to keep the
black QB down. lol

housequake!
I'm glad you're feelin' me!

I'm not prejudiced against ANYBODY..
all I'm saying is, if you're a QB & can run & help your team win-
REGARDLESS of the QB's complexion-
then &%*$# RUN!

smile

I think M. Vick is going shut up (hopefully once & for all) all those "mobile QB naysayers"..
he can do it, no doubt!
I'll see you tonight..
in ALL MY DREAMS..

Yeah, I never really thought about how all
black QBs that run are told not to, yet Steve Young
was the only white QB that was told not to run.
I agree that if your QB can run as well as throw,
let them do both (regardless of skin). It helps the
offense be a little less defensible and gives the team
a better (or more chances) to win.

Donny, though you are a great guy, but you take a look at who is up top the AFC North after Week 3 ? Yup, my Brownies are back, redux of the 1979 Kardiac Kids. And I suspect that we will soon find out if Pittsburgh will win the AFC North after the Sept 29 tilt at Hienz Field.

It's Browns-Steelers week, part 1. Can't wait for kickoff.

Browns 27, Steelers 16.

Packers vs. Dolphins

I knew Ricky Williams was better than he showed in New Orleans. Just knew it.
Dolphins are always Great in September but December is a whole different can of Worms.

I'm talking about Ricky Williams alone, in this case. He never started out this well with New Orleans. I don't think at any time he was there.
He got that Herschel Walker Vibe about Him with a touch of Gerald Riggs I'll give Him that.maybe a Baby Earl Campbell in there as well?time will tell.He was Never wanted in New Orleans once Ditka was let go.there style&system doesn't fit Him really when you think about it.both the Saints&Dolphins are doing alright thus far with there choices.

The Browns are a team to watch.I'm Impressed with what Butch Davis has done overall with this team over the past couple of years.
