Hello from Cambodia!! Hello!
Im now in Cambodia! Its extremely hot! The people are very friendly and the food is great. We got here by bus from Bangkok which took us 6 hours to travel 150km. The road was very bumpy and it was a relief when we finally got to Siem Reap. Yesterday we visited the temples of Angkor which were stunning. Ive got some amazing photos of the Bayon temple and Angkor Wat which I will send to you when I can. I felt like Indiana Jones minus a whip and hat! Love JD

Vietnam is my next stop. Im currently in Phnom Penh at present. I went to Tuong Sleng today which was formerly the Prison-21 Camp under the Khmer Rouge regime. Its amazing to think how much the country has moved on from the days of Pol Pot. Cambodia is an amazing country and the people are so friendly. Even if one kid grabbed me by the balls as a joke today! he he!

Well I was offered a pink whip from a guy in Delhi. Its amazing what they try to sell you! I went to the Killing Fields today which was very sombre. There were little bird houses filled with bones, teeths and old bullets.

Is it an educational thing, visiting the killing fields or is it poor people trying to make a buck?

Is it an educational thing, visiting the killing fields or is it poor people trying to make a buck? Its easy to be cynical and say that they are trying to make a quick buck out of the atrocities. Yet I dont really see it that way. I think its testement to the country and its people that they are learning to deal with their past and trying to highlight how far the have moved on.

You know that with every "hello from..." thread you post, our jealousy makes us hate you even more, right?
