This must be a large high school where it could become a trend/fashionable to go to a support group like that. I could see kids going to a support group because they are skinny...but I dont think it would be desirable/fashionable to go to a support group cause one is fat. If this was the case Im sure there would be need for many more support groups than the five for the skinny kids. 
I'm just saying being conscious of body image is going to drive one to be aware of what is healthy to to eat and not eat. And drive for the desire to exercise. It's actually a small Catholic high school...and there is a big difference between being "skinny" naturally and having anorexia. This woman has two master's degrees and is a licensed therapist...I'm sure she can tell the difference. | |

At the end of the day it doesn't matter what others think about you when it comes to your appearance, it's how you really feel about yourself that matters and will effect you the most. I, personally, refuse to embrace being a fat chick, so I am gonna go work out right now. I realllllyyy don't want to embrace this thick thing happening but its driving me  with thinking about it. I've always had body image issues so its just not a cool thing right now but I was trying to do a mind over matter thing but its trying to get my mind OVER the matter

I'll just say that over and over ppl tell me that I'm not fat at all but i do feel very pudgy  I embraced my fat chick and lost 42lbs. I think when I decided that I was cool with how I was I ended up feeling better and not doing that emotional nibbling. | |
