She and Gerald were supposedly an item. I like Mo'Nique's material. She's a little crass, but she is funny to me.

RIP, Gerald.

Weight problems are so much more complex than the solution (eat less) suggests.

This admittedly sounds like hippie-lazy-ass steaming garbage, but I have to testify that there's truth to it. I'm coming dangerously close to being an official Ex Fatty, and I've never felt so naked in public. It's incredible how liberating it was when I was invisible. At this point, I miss it. I don't see a time in the future where I will ever feel comfortable with this much human attention. Especially when I don't see a lick of a difference in the mirror.

It's even more frightening to consider how it'd be if I projected more outer confidence. Yikes. Here's something really embarrassing: my good friend and I were at a thrift shop on Sunday and I started crying in the dressing room. lol I haven't shopped in a REGULAR clothing store in years and years. A huge part of me wants to balloon back up so I have my armor again. How fucking backwards am I?!

The grass is seriously ALWAYS greener! nutty

yes, I'm just going to be a part of the Monique fan club and just embrace my thick chick status.

No, I'm not as big as Monique but I am tired of the mental battle of being a smaller babe.

Sooooo.....how do you successfully do this fat chick thing....what do I need to do.

Any ideas.....

if you have some ideas for me to lose 3970987987083652 lbs...i liked to hear that as well.

cardio for about an hour a day (everyday). eat better (we don't get fat from eating well). drink a lot of water. eat smaller meals more frequently throughout the day rather than large meals a few times a day.

get a series of colonics to start things off. it will drop a few pounds and you'll actually feel better immediately. that instant gratification can come in handy because everything else will take time to see results. plus, once you start paying to change your insides, you "magically" become much more aware of what you put in there.

a veggie diet doesn't hurt either but if you wanna stick with meats, stick with chicken (no skin) and fish, with red meat only once in a while.

Rhondab, embrace it if that's what really makes you feel happy, not because you give up. If it's not what you really want then don't give up.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter what others think about you when it comes to your appearance, it's how you really feel about yourself that matters and will effect you the most.

I, personally, refuse to embrace being a fat chick, so I am gonna go work out right now.

If your old and fat, well I doubt any thing can be done about that. But don't instill in the younger generations to be young and fat. I started working out when I was a teenager. And I see the trend continuing, I think the younger generations are very conscious of thier body image that most wont have the issue of being over weight. Eating habits are changing. People are becoming more aware.

Actually, you're never too old to get in great shape. A few weeks ago I saw a local news story about a guy that was in his 90s and in incredible shape. He was fat until he started to work out in his mid 60s.

He was sharp as a whip too.

That's an interesting interjection. I once ran a marathon in my mid 20's and encountered a woman in her 70's. She'd taken up running only a few years earlier.

The thing I took out of that story the most was that exercising the body on a daily basis definitely keeps your mind young. It was inspirational.

It is inspiring. Although alot of older folks are just set in thier way, so it may not be worth it to them. shrug

and some of ya'll are just evil but so damn funny lol

I'll just say that over and over ppl tell me that I'm not fat at all but i do feel very pudgy confused

Actually the opposite is happening...many are becoming anorexic. A friend of mine is a counselor in a high school and she has FIVE support groups for kids who are dealing with either anorexia or bulemia...and that is in ONE school. Neither extreme is good. I don't think being "very concious of your body image" is necessarily healthy...we need to focus on what IS healthy, not being self-concious of body image.

This must be a large high school where it could become a trend/fashionable to go to a support group like that. I could see kids going to a support group because they are skinny...but I dont think it would be desirable/fashionable to go to a support group cause one is fat. If this was the case Im sure there would be need for many more support groups than the five for the skinny kids. shrug

I'm just saying being conscious of body image is going to drive one to be aware of what is healthy to to eat and not eat. And drive for the desire to exercise.
