It's true though. I've spent my whole life, down playing myself so I could make the less fortunate feel better about themselves. It's time to stop that kind of charity work. It's not good for my own soul. I will live to my full potential, wether it makes others look pitiful, or not.

In that case I totally agree with you, and I think everyone should do the same. I think that's what Rhonda was getting at too. Nobody's actually perfect, but in a way we're all perfect. Just like I remember always making a joke out of myself when something happened bad to someone just to make them feel better. And then I would end up looking like the idiot and I'd get walked on and stuff, and I'm kinda sick of doing that.

Rhondab said: yes, I'm just going to be a part of the Monique fan club and just embrace my thick chick status.
No, I'm not as big as Monique but I am tired of the mental battle of being a smaller babe. Sooooo.....how do you successfully do this fat chick thing....what do I need to do. Any ideas..... if you have some ideas for me to lose 3970987987083652 lbs...i liked to hear that as well. I don't know why this thread went down the road it did but as far as I can see, self-acceptance and self-love has got to be a good thing. If losing weight was as easy as some of you suggest, there would be no overweight people and nobody would be making money from slimming aids. Weight problems are so much more complex than the solution (eat less) suggests.

I recommend getting Queens of Comedy and watching Monique's set. I have the audio bits and she is by far the funniest, fat or not fat. Her jokes have me rolling. She said "Once you go fat, you never go back!"
Her fat bitches need to hang with fat bitches got me too. Calling "skinny bitches" smart mother fuckers.

applekisses said: ButterscotchPimp said: There is a reason why the United States is the fattest and unhealthiest nation in the world. We eat crap and we don't exercise. Period.
And then, since we're the US we make excuses (because that's what Americans do) or even WORSE, decide to "embrace being a fat chick". Good lord. No one's saying you have to be Paris Hilton, but there's no excuse for being Mo'Nique either. I don't care how proud of her weight she is, she isn't healthy and her weight is going to shorten her lifespan as a result of it. Here's a phrase for you. Eat to live. Don't live to eat. I was a vegetarian for 12 years and i've been vegan for over a year now. I eat all the time and don't feel hungry. Do i miss some foods that i used to eat? Not that many. But being black and having diabetes run rampant on my father's side of the family, i think it's more important that i'm ALIVE. So it's very simple. Give up all the fast and fat laden foods. It's not that freaking hard. Exercise. A change in diet and a 30 minute brisk walk every other day would make a significant difference. Smaller freaking proportions. It's not rocket science, people. But, what if you do all of that and you're still "thick"? I think there's something to be said for that. yep...there's folks who are naturally thick, and still exercise and take care of themselves (like yours truly). fat don't always equate lazy and/or gluttonous.

Her fat bitches need to hang with fat bitches got me too. Calling "skinny bitches" smart mother fuckers. she wasnt too funny on the radio show she hosted on Gerald Levert. It didn't help all the poeple calling in basically hinting around about getting some money either. But basically she comes across much like a cliche. ..
