It depends on what that persons intentions are...
If they are giving me advice to benefit themselves then they can shove their advice. If someone truly cares about me then I will listen.

I hate it too, and it's bad enough when people suddenly become bloody experts at a subject that you obviously know more about than them. Like when I came back after six months in Japan... I couldn't even tell a single story about my time there because everybody else was too busy telling me how life in Japan is even though they've never been anywhere in Asia! pissed

I feel the same way about folks who try to bestow the virtues of Microsoft SMS over the much more superior Novell Zenworks 6.5 suite. shrug

So is it actually true that Microsoft sucks in everything they do? I thought maybe the reason that hardcore tecchies sneer at them was that it's uncool to like what is mainstream? I'd just be surprised if they were so bad, since you'd think there's a reason that they dominate the market. But what do I know...

(please note the last sentence in which I humbly back off from any claim to know a single damn thing about the software market razz)

No.

They excel at their Office Suite. It is exremely easy to create MS Word document macros, Excel Macros, etc.

Back in the late 90's I would have scoffed at the idea that they could be better than the Lotus Suite, but the office suite really is nice, if a bit of bloatware.

From what I've seen of Office 2007, it will truly cut down on the amount of worktime you do--it's the most intuitive general purpose Office Suite I've ever seen. The features are uber nice.

Though I'm a bit wearing of them introducing completely new file structures to their documents, I'll invite it. shrug
