ANTI-DEPRESSANTS!!

I just took my first anti-depressant of a months course 2day and i read in the leaflet about this particular prescription that one of the side effects is lack of sex drive and lack of ability 2 orgasm!! mad mad

What a dilemma?? biggrin biggrin

Do I live with anxiety attacks and feelings of anger and keep my sex drive and orgasms or do I live with calmness and feelings of well-being but with no sex drive or orgasms????? lol lol lol lol

You don't know that you will get that as a side-effect yet. And if you do, you can talk to your doctor and try something else.

it really depends on the med and the levels in your blood stream, also it may depend on the time of day you take the med. All and all don't buy into it and like Carrie says you may not even experience the side effects.

if it works real good you won't care anyway giggle

Talk to your doctor; find out if there is something else you can take.

A friend of mine resisted anti-d's for years because of the sex drive thing. Then she heard about Wellbutrin and she reports it's not so rough on the libido.

I took Paxil for a few days, and I couldn't eat, sleep, had no sex drive, and I stank! I had to stop because I was losing weight so quickly and didn't sleep for 3 days.

I prefer to avoid pills, but these things work differently for different people. I know some people who don't have side effects.

Your lol/sadface ratio confuses me. You seem deliriously happy - bizzarely so, like you're either experiencing one of the three of four times in an average lifespan a human feels trancendetory and starlike (excepting artifically induced highs from illegal chemical compounds) or you've been though years of inner despair, torment and loathing and have now decided to end it all. I hear some people get happy when they decide to kill themselves. Why are you happy?
