I finally went in for a professional fitting at a fantastic lingerie boutique here in Seattle, and it turns out that I've been wearing the correct bra size all along! I read years ago about how to measure your underbust, and how to calculate cup size, and I guess I did it correctly.

I didn't trust the girls at Victoria's Secret, because they were trying to sell me their new bra, and I knew it wouldn't fit. When the sales rep asked if she could fit me, I said no, because I was sure she'd lie about my measurements so I would buy the bra! lol

I have to get refitted because I went to vicky's about three years ago and got fitted with my current size...and it just doesn't work for me anymore, its too tight and they don't fit. I want to get a breast reduction so bad. I looked up the information but the surgery itself involves all these consequences that really suck!!!! I wish I had small boobs. sigh

I know several women who have had the breast reduction surgery. All glad they did and no complications. You have to be explained the risks even if they're a low percentage. Back pain was the primary need for the surgery which improved afterwards.

My sister had breast reduction surgery 3 years ago. I used to want it too (because nothing ever fits me in the bust!) but I decided not to after helping her during recovery. I know that the outcome is different for everyone, but she had a tough time with recovery, and the wounds didn't heal well. I decided that I would rather live with big cumbersome boobs than risk the surgery.

I had a friend who did it then a few years later she lost weight and had nothing for a chest so she ended up getting implants.

Those I know who had the reduction surgery did so because of chronic back pain. With any "elective surgery", the pros and cons need to be weighed.

i got fitted at lane bryant a couple months back...turns out that i'm a 36H. i've always worn DDD cups because they're relatively cheaper than trying to find an actual H-cup and paying outta my behind for that. if i had the money to get a breast reduction i'd get that, but i'm kinda wary of that now. on one hand if i were to get the surgery done i wouldn't have to worry about sore shoulders and ill-fitting shirts anymore, plus it'll be easier for me to breathe...on the other hand, there's always the risk that the surgery could end up botched or something.

With an H cup, I'm sure a reduction would make your life MUCH easier. There are several lingerie companies that make bras in those sizes, but like you said, they are not cheap. But, some of the more expense brands are well made, and do last a long time. I finally caved and got a pricey French bra, and it's still doing a good job 6 months later.

My sister got the surgery done for the sake of her back. Unfortunately, it healed all wrong. She wasn't too upset about it at first, now that she's older, she feels rather self conscious.

but it doesn't always have to be done
it depends on your particular breasts
so don't let that scare you away
if you want a reduction the best thing
to do is go for a consultation.

i don't need a reduction at all, i'm just easily scared at the thought of surgery lol i'm 38C-ish (though i'm pretty sure that's the wrong size disbelief)

go try a 34DD

it probably isn't, because the cup size is proportional to the back size, which I suspect in your case is much too big, if you go down 2 sizes in back size, usually go UP 2 in cup size. Or if you go to a 36, try a D. I was always wearing 36E but they were way to big in the back, so I now wear a 32G and I couldn't be happier.

DO IT! My clothes fit differently...I feel more supported...I highly recommend it! biggrin

Yes they do! I love bras now because I saw this Tyra show where she showed how different bras are used for different effects and suit different clothes. I'm so glad I saw that because now I have a collection of bras from VS that really go with my clothes perfectly. It even makes you feel different when all your clothes including your bra fit right. Now I absolutly can NOT wear a tank top if I am not wearing a clear strap bra underneath or if I am wearing a white T shirt I must have the seamless T shirt bra underneath. If I am wearing a V neck sweater I must have that deep plunge bra underneath. I never thought about that stuff before. I used to think a bra was a bra but different styles really make your clothes and outfit look phenomonal.

woot! Glad that you went, and that it worked out for you. It's important that you find someone who knows what they're doing, because the first two so-called "professionals" I went to did not know what the heck they were doing. Luckily, the last time I went, I got a lady who was very good, and was able to help me find my correct size.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
