Fire Hydrant, Man Vertigo Dogs Where are my autographed CD's? fire hydrant, man had a tape of demos we sold at shows...i'll have to show it to you sometime. it's very silly. vertigo dogs didn't stay together long enough to record anything, though we did anticipate the mash-up craze by doing a mixed-up medley of madonna's 'burning up' mixed in with 'bela lagosi's dead'. it was a treat.

If I find out more about them, I'll be sure to let you know. There are a few soundclips of my band at www.punkrockorchestra.com We recorded a whole album which is stuck in a legal black hole and we're basically defunct because of differences between the owners. But I still play side projects with a few of the members.

You stole that from Tool! Ben is defending Tool! I'm so proud I brainwashed you. In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |

I played alto sax in my jr. high & high school bands (including marching band).
But my friend's husband has been in a couple bands with guys that he went to school with and that have clever names: Cover Me Badd-- They didn't have a lead singer, only 2 guitarists, a drummer, bassist, and trombone in place of a lead singer. And they only played covers! (but not badly ) Some of the other members were also in a band called Uncle Funcle (or Unkle Funkle?) and several of them are now professional musicians. One plays with Dweezil Zappa(?). All I know is that my friend has been hanging out with Dweezil and Steve Vai. The other guitar player formed a band called The Vitamen. And my friend's husband is now in a band called Wolfgang Jack (he doesn't like the name either. lol.)

I hate going to hear live bands (except Prince) b/c they usually suck, but even I liked Cover Me Badd. (Maybe it was because they only did covers...) I wish they hadn't broken up! Uncle Funcle was pretty jazzy, too.

The Pleiades. What do you all think? how do you pronounce that? I know, I know... This weekend several people told me that would be a problem... So I delved into my Renaissance studies notes, and thought of Lavinia from Titus Andronicus... I kind of like "Lavinia's secret garden," what do you think?

I once decided that if ever I were in a band, I would call it 'fabulous'. So that when we're on stage I can say after every song 'thanks for coming down tonight. We're fabulous.' 'Thank you! We're fabulous!' 'You're the best crowd ever. oh, and by the way, we're fabulous.' |

16 Bitch Pileup. YES.
After being denied my first choice (French horn) in 4th grade, I got to play my second choice: percussion. The (perverted) band teacher bumped me and the sax player up to the 7th-8th grade band so we could perform in San Francisco at the CA State Championships. When we got off the bus, I discovered I'd left my sheet music at home, two hours away. We won anyway and I got a trophy for my tympani performance. What a geek. And in high school, I mentored youngsters on the drumset. When I was eleven, my younger stepbrothers and I were in a band called Bimbos, Incorporated. Our music was strange and the lyrics made little sense. I still have the songbook and cassette tape of our recordings. I was also "in a band" in high school with my best friend. We issued an album without making the music, if that makes any sense. Ah, it doesn't. But it did at the time. Lastly, I helped create a band called The Asti Assmasters. We performed in the vineyards (Asti, CA) behind my friend's house. We stole Asti roadsigns and used them as drums and cymbals when my drumset was stolen. No recordings, thank goodness. Oh shit, my hat done fell off
