Tip for making your commute more enjoyable Try leaving for the office at 5:30 a.m. I think you'll find that you can almost halve your drive when there are no other cars on the road. [Edited 11/22/06 3:08am]

Amen brother.
Whenever I leave for work early it's much more enjoyable, and I get alot more shit done. I actually look like I'm on top of my game rather than catching up.

Why so early? The work I do supports a 24-hour business and I volunteered for the early shift. I leave work every day at 2:30pm, so that's the nice part. But it gets a little ridiculous when I'm getting ready for bed at 8 o'clock at night. |

I can leave at 7:45am and still catch the bus on the north side of town before it leaves for downtown at 8:05am, and I'm doing 70mph the whole way there.

Apparently. Personally, I'm asleep at that time, so I wouldn't really know. I love sleeping. Especially in the mornings.

Then when they are asleep I'll clean the bathrooms, and pick up all their toys for like the millionth time. Then when they wake up I have to go to the store cuz I forgot to get some stuff, and fite thru all the bitchy old people giving me dirty looks cuz my son will be screaming Mommy Will you get me that at the top of his lungs. Then when I come home I'll have to make dinner and give the kids a bath and do the bedtime thing. Then do laundry and pick up the toys again and mop my floor.

It is hard to be in that early routine, but when you get used to it its so good!

I live 10 minutes from work, so I usually leave at about 8:10 a.m. to arrive in time for my daily 8:30 a.m. meeting

Me too! I leave at 8.15 and get in for 8.30, in the bus. Takes about 30 mins to get to uni too. I have always wanted to start getting up early and going to uni early, but I always go to bed too late

Actually, my cruise control won't do 70, but it will do 69. I'm only doing 4mph over the speed limit of 65, then. Heh...my car does 69.
