4 give me but I just started using Ipods and I have a question. Can u download FROM the Ipod back 2 a computer?

not really, because once the music is on the ipod, the music is "locked" there.
HOWEVER, if you own a mac, there is a program called PodWorks (its only 10$ online) that can unlock your ipod so you can take from it and put on2 your computer.

ps: not sure if you can use it amongst different computers, it'd be safest to have it registered to one computer only

i love my zen micro without it (and the ability to take songs off of it on any computer the software's installed on) i would've lost a huge chunk of my music when my laptop died this summer.

The iPods ain't the only ones to do this. The Sony hard-drive Walkmans have the same principle.

Tough if you ever have to reformat your pc and lose all the songs on the hard drive.

Damn, really? I have to get a new Nano this weekend and I hate I can't move the music off my iPod to the new one.

Oh and I will never buy another iPod again. It didn't last a whole year.

I love my iPod. Although I am concidering returning it and waiting for when they come out with one with a larger screen. And that's only because I think 375.00 is alot to spend on something that may be bettered in the next few months. Concidering Microsofts new mp3 player already has a larger screen.

This question was the biggest one I had 6 months ago when buying my iPod, and I almost returned it as a result. I downloaded sharepod, though, after a recommendation here on the org, and I've been happy with it ever since.

I think all versions of iTunes after 7 allow you to transfer the songs from the iPod to your computer. It was announced at one of their conferences a few weeks back.

In iTunes go to "File", then "Transfer purchases from iPod" right?
