For the Org ladies... ...I went to see a professional bra fitter and I am so happy I did...I've been wearing the wrong size for quite some time. If you haven't seen one, I highly recommend it!

there is an illustration in the change room where i go
basically says is your bra "covering" your breasts or actually "supporting" them i know now when a bra fits correctly (after having been fitted correctly) but for a long time i was wearing too large a band size and too small a cup size.

I was measured a few years back I found out I fall in the half sizes I'm in a 40.5 Dd (D.5) I thought she was lying but I saw with my own eyes, I still haven't brought myself to have my bras made.

even in a bra store that i used to go to
i wouldn't fit into the cup so they would give me the next bigger band size because a 38DDD is going to have a bigger cup than a 36DDD that is not good most of the support we get is from the band - so that has to fit snuggly in order to work (especially important when you are bigger on top) if you don't fit into the 36DDD then you need to go into a 36F (or E, depending on the brand) the last time i went in that store the woman actually lengthened the straps hello?! i'm spending lots of money on this bra to keep them up, not let them down again needless to say i didn't spend any money there they tell you that the band should fit when it's done on the middle hook but i now refuse to buy a bra unless its comfortable on the last hook. bands stretch and if i only have one hook to move to it just won't fit as well after a while. where is my bosom buddy?

the half size is in the cup or in the band?? i have a cousin who has one breast a full cup size larger than the other apparently it's not that uncommon she buys bras that have removable padding wears one side with and one side without

Oprah had a show a while back about women and their bra sizes, and most women really were wearing the wrong size. My bras feel fine for the most part, but chances are that I too am wearing the wrong size

ok i have to disagree about that site's recommendation to add 4 inches to the measurement under your breasts
To get your band size, measure around your ribcage directly beneath your bust. Make sure the tape measure is evenly horizontal the entire length around. Take the measurement and round up or down to the nearest whole number. (For example, "31 and 1/4" rounds down to "31", while "31 and 1/2" rounds up to "32".) Take the new whole number, and if it's an even number, add 4 inches. If it's odd, add 5. This number is your band size.
i'm wearing a fairly good fitting bra, not my best and the measurement of the tape under my breasts is exactly the band size of the bra i am wearing. i would have no support at all if i was wearing a band 4" larger

there are so many different variations between brands as to how they fit
are you trying department store names? i bet if you tried a bra store and they let you try on some of the european lines you would be able to find something that worked even better i want to be the bra fairy and show all women what a difference a good bra makes

ok i'm done preaching I don't.....unless I'm pressed for time. I noticed that they do draw up a little whenever I have to put them in the dryer. I've found that the elastic doesn't last as long when you put them in the dryer. I saw the Oprah show too. Great advice for us well endowed ladies. I have to get refitted because I went to vicky's about three years ago and got fitted with my current size...and it just doesn't work for me anymore, its too tight and they don't fit. I want to get a breast reduction so bad. I looked up the information but the surgery itself involves all these consequences that really suck!!!! I wish I had small boobs.

Ex-Moderator | I never know if I'm wearing the right size. And I've had to try on a bazillion bras lately what with losing weight, so now I really don't know. |

34DD I'm the same size and you're right. Most times I have to find a large D cup, since (luckily) the cup sizes seem to vary from brand to brand.
