Ex-Moderator | I've been on an asian market kick. Buying things like little cups of mango pudding and ginger candy and these things that are like freezy-pops but a little different. And I'm still on my exotic fruit kick. I bought rambutans last week.

There are these brown rice chips that I used to get @ Whole Foods - WAY over priced ($2.00+ for a small bag!) but so damn GOOD! & very low in fat... I wish I could buy them in bulk

Turkish meze...feta, grape leaves, olives, pita, hummus if it's in the fridge, eggplant salad (we make it often) This is a great breakfast, also. And vegetarian. It's high in vit E, good for hair and nails.

Hey ,cool ! I´m Turkish too, but in the wintertime I´m not really in the mood for meze unless I really , really have one of my Turkish moments . I always associate meze with summer or at least springtime, don´t know why. But I love hummus every now and then...very good for your hormone levels and , as you mentioned, for your hair and nails and skin. Olives are great, too....but it´s a bit difficult to get the real good stuff over here, so that´s why I tend to buy Greek Kalamata olives, they remind me of the olives my aunt used to prepare. I also have tons of dried figs here, from my aunt...being a true Agaen myself, I can´t get enough of them, especially with almonds or walnuts. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

PS: This tastes best when flushed down with a couple of glasses of icecold Raki, an anis drink that is best when mixed with water.

I drank too much of the greek version on my honeymoon in Greece and threw up. When I was in Turkey at a small village restaurant, I got up and bellydanced with the gypsy dancer, and the other patrons sent all these glasses of Raki plus fruit to our table. It's way too potent to drink much of.

The owner slaughters lamb (and goat) every thursday so there's fresh chops, or leg for a good meal. He also has 6 differnt types of feta and 5 types of olives, including a spicey batch with chilis. We buy olive oil by the gallon, and it's good qualilty at a reasonable price. I like to make spinach borek. I use a spicey meat filling too. And don't forget about the tasty rice pilav with the spaghetti noodles fried in butter. YUM.
