Speaking Of Sitcoms, Am I The Only One Who Hasn't Watched A Single Eposide From This Show?

Momma loves her some Lucile Ball and Ricki Recardo(Dynasty is en equal top to her).

The only times I have the chance to watch "I Love Lucy" and some clips at that, is when I'm in the plane. THATS IT!

Any of you love this show?

i've never sat through an entire episode of 'Friends', which seems far more forgivable than never seeing an episode of 'I Love Lucy'. no no no!

You all should go out and watch it! nod biggrin

I just don't see it,,,its too damn campy. BTW Friends is campy too lol which I'm not that crazy over either.

I can imagine Seinfeld and The Jeffersons being cult favorites,,,but "I Love Lucy"? It has appeal but the truth is, I didn't give it a fair chance.

Maybe I should tune for an eposide nod

Truly one of the best sit-coms ever. She almost invented the sit-com. Sure it's campy and a bit over the top, but that is the charm.

Favorite Episodes -

Vitametavegimin - Lucy has to do a commercial for a "tonic" that is like 50% alcohol. She has trouble saying Vitametavegimin and that only gets worse with each take.

The Meat Locker. - To save money, Lucy decides to purchase a Meat Locker. SHe gets a discount on it if she buys a side of Beef. She only tells Ricky about the discount price, but doesn't mention the other purchase she had to make to get it. So she hides the beef in the furnace, gets locked int he freezer. General madness ensues. One cannot forget the icicle tears on her face.

The Salad Dressing - Lucy decides to again to "get rich" by selling her famous recipe for salad dressing. Her wonderful commercial is such a hit she ends up having to make like 1,000 bottles of dressing. She decides to get out of the business by making a "bad" commercial.

Coming back to the US from Europe - And she isn't allowed to bring back food, but she wants to bring back a big huge thing of cheese that she dresses up like a baby. Lucy gets hungry n the flight and eats the cheese. But gets in trouble when the passengers wonder what happened to her baby.

The Headress - Lucy convinces Ricky that she can be in a show. SHe ends up having to wear this HUGE headress that she has trouble balancing for the musical number.

In Hollywood, Lucy has to disguise herself because one of Ricky's producers is coming to visit and he has had a not so nice run in with Lucy. Her disguise features a long prosthetic nose.

Crying Wolf - There is a masher about and Lucy doesn't think Ricky cares about her safety. Lucy guises a way to trick the others to thinking she has been kidnapped. They catch wind of it and outfake Lucy. Of course when the real Masher does arrive, no one believes Lucy is in trouble.

It may be a generational thing. Is there anyone over 30 who hasn't seen a single episode?

Anx

i watched it when i was a kid. it was something to while away the morning when i was on summer vacation. it was ALWAYS on daytime tv. i enjoyed it well enough, i suppose. i've never been wild about it. in fact, i kinda enjoyed the lucy show more, because of the unintentional camp factor. shrug

I don't think so shrug

The access is wild, you could turn on any channel and see Lucy and Cosby. Its everywhere.

My younger sister is a huge fan of the show, another reason why I don't think its a generational thing.

I'm not saying it's odd for people under 30 to be into the show. I'm saying back in the day before the competition of cable, video games, etc. Lucy reruns used to be on TV a lot. If you are older, it would be pretty hard to not ever see an episode.

I tried watching it but i just don't find it funny. And Lucy is downright annoying. Who would want to be hooked up with that?

I'm 24, and I grew up watching Lucy. My mom adores her, and for good reason. Lucy had such great comedic timing, and was not afraid to make herself look rediculous. It was just good clean fun, and truly funny.
