On Her Majesty's Secret Service with George Lazenby. The best one and the most unconventional one. I believe "OHMSS" is one of the best Bond films ever...but Lazenby still ranks behind Connery and Craig. "OHMSS" is, however, one of the best-written Bond films and I certainly enjoy it. I love it when George breaks the "fourth wall" and says--in direct reference to Connery: "This never happened to the other fellow." followed by the greatest theme! He's not ugly but he does have a set of goofy ears. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

I enjoyed it for the most part. I got a little bored watching the card game scenes. but the beginning action sequence was fantastic, as was the building collapsing at the end.
Daniel Craig does a great job in the movie. Whether or not you consider him a real "Bond" he still holds his own. His eyes are piercing.

Amatuers. All amateurs. Take it from someone who read the entire Ian Fleming series and has seen every film (including the non-canon films such as Never Say Never Again): Daniel Craig is the best Bond since Connery...and this is hands-down the third best Bond film ever made (following "Dr. No" and "Goldfinger"). Craig has NAILED this character and his interpretation of Bond is nothing less than majestic. This Bond is complex, three-dimensional, sexy, and believable--perfect. By the way, to those who think Bond should always be dark and handsome, Fleming described Bond as resembling "a young Hoagy Carmichael." Not exactly a classically handsome chap. I agree, Daniel Craig is definatly one of the better james bonds. he mixed perfectly the seriousness and dead sexiness of connery with the cheeky personality of roger moore. I also think the goal of this film was reinventing bond and being more true to fleming's bond. it kind of reminds me of what they did with the batman series: start from new, regardless of the time span issue. the difference between the bond series and batman is the fact that up until 'batman returns', the batman movies were crap. at least with james bond there are many classics and a few good bonds. i think 'casino royale' took the best eliments of the bond films and bond the character. all in all, i left feeling like i didn't waste my money and that i enjoyed my two hours, or however long it was.
