"It was 7:45 and we were all in line..."

Isn't that a bit early in the morning to be in school? I'd still be in bed at that time. Is that what time you start school in the US?

Maybe it was a day trip out somewhere and they had to get to school early for the buses?

If it started "It was 8:45 and we were all in line" then it would be a lot more credible.

As it stands, I just can't believe a story about a girl who has starfish and coffee in her lunchbox and gets into school by 7:45.

The high school in my town starts at 7:30.

And starfish can be quite delightful when prepared properly. wink

Sort of, but with less of a "fishy" taste.

When moving to the States a few years ago, I learned that high school starts way earlier than in the UK - I kept wondering why there were kids in uniform at 7am, until my wife told me that she used to start school at 7:20 and have lunch at 11am...

I teach high school in Minneapolis and school begins at 7.20. I never saw any of my students having starfish and coffee.

I think Prince was going by the old calendar.

'It was July 45th, we were all in line' wouldn't sound so good, so he changed it, much like 3121 is about the 31st of Nowonder which was, of course, the 21st month back in the day.

After the accident, her brain never fully recovered sadly, hence why she says those things. I take my Org life very seriously, hence why I'm going to batter my pc with a fish the moment Cloudbuster responds to any one of my posts.

7:45am would actually be late where i grew up.

I've never eaten a starfish but there were plenty of kids i went to elementary school with who drank coffee.

Tell me about it. She sends me used tampons in the post and steals my underwear from the clothes line.

I'm seriously thinking of kicking her out of the spare room. I'm sure we could cope without her rent money.

In New Orleans, we always started school at 8:15....from grammar school all the way until I graduated "high" school....

....but my son starts class now at 7:10 eek eek so if school started that early for me, I can understand where the coffee would come in handy.... lol

talk to the hand do you honestly think that, after the unfortunate goldfish incident and your subsequent court-ordered anger management classes, you'll even stand a chance to find another job as lucrative as your last one at Toecheese-B-Us? that stuff is on your permanent record, man - you NEED my rent money more than ever. hmph!

oh, and for the record, the tampons were only GENTLY used.
