Oh yes and an example. I always try to be *nice* about saying no, though. hmmm Very difficult to come up with one but: (in a situation where I really do *not* want to do it)

Friend: You wanna come to (insert place here) with me on (insert ---day here)?
Me: No...sorry, I can't do that then.
Friend: Why?
Me: I have plans.
