I'm such a nice Mom My husband has to be to work earlier than normal this week, so I got up at 5 a.m., made his lunch and coffee and sent him on his way. I have some extra time, so I decided to make my kids breakfast, instead of the usual cold cereal.
I just fried up some ham (leftover from last night), scrambled eggs with cheese (cooked in some ham drippings--real tasty) and French toast made with real French bread. Oh, and I brewed some roasted chestnut flavored coffee for myself. Doesn't that just sound like a delightful (though not too healthy) breakfast? Watch my kids say something like, "isn't there anymore Frosted Flakes left?" (Said in a whiny voice).

i would've loved it if my mom had ever had the time to do that for me...throw something at your kids if they don't appreciate it.

Your husband should of made his lunch the night before.

Awwwww.
Your lucky though. My kids won't eat anything simple. I pretty much HAVE to make them EVERY meal. They won't cereal or even eat spagettios or anything like that.

Why shouldn't I help him out? He is the one making $30/hr at a hard job 50 miles away from our house, while I stay at home. Unlike some wives, I actually want to be helpful to my husband. If getting up earlier than normal, and packing a lunch helps my husband to get to work on time, then that's fine with me.

That's not good. | |

It's actually really rewarding to take care of your man. That's how I used to be. I just hope he appreciates you.

Yeah, but then you become a mommy to him as well as your kids. That's not good. That's crazy. Because I make my husband's lunch for him? I have to get up early anyway to get my kids ready for school. What's an extra half hour or hour early? I savor that quiet time in between him leaving for work and my kids waking up. And trust me...there's is no way my husband would ever allow me to "mother" him.

I don't want anyone taking care of me, so to me it looks funny. I think he should make his lunch the night before.

They are supposed to be one? Since when? There is no such thing. I can't believe anyone would want to be dependant on another person. That's sad.

beautifully put. in a loving relationship BOTH partners want to do extra nice things for their mate. wife getting up to make a nice lunch for him, showing that she cares. husband bringing home flowers "just because", showing that he cares. many nice things, just because they care about the other person. of course, spats wouldn't know about any of this b/c he's never cared about anyone but himself, or had anyone care about him like this. it's ok spats, we know you're just ignorant.

Spats, you're neither married or have kids or even have a partner, you have nothing to do with this topic, so stfu with your off topic crap.
If you wanna bicker about the same old shit, take it to orgnotes or make your own thread about it.

God forbid they try something new. That being said, it always helps me to remember that they're still little girls, and their perspective on the world is much different than mine.
