Guys, member when all the files were deleted offa my computer?

Well, I still never got to the bottom of it.

I don't think it was a virus though, cuz I'm not havin' any more problems. 'Cept once in a while when I go to close out of something a gray window pops up, like a windows one, and say something like

"windows was unable to copy 123423534653 to 1421345235346 something something something, click X to terminate"

So, is it lookin' like someone DID hack in to my computer, and they're copying my files? Thats weird rite? But is it possible?

Oh, and I have no virus protection, it ran out. Can somebody hook me up?

My husband was saying that this happened to him once, and the tech support said something like he had to reinstall your operating system. I still think you should look into someone trying to hack into your computer.

Get Avast anti virus. It's free and it doesn;t have an expiration.

http://www.avast.com/eng/...-home.html

Then get Lavasoft adaware anti spyware

http://www.lavasoftusa.com

Then get Regscrubxp

http://www.majorgeeks.com...p?det=2048

Download these and USE them a couple times each, reboot after each use.
If that doesn't help then you may have to have your windows re- installed. That's a pain in the ass, but not that hard.
Someone may have hacked into your computer, it's easy to do and it happens all the time.

Don't forget about having a good firewall program...probably the most important factor if you think someone is hacking in. ZoneAlarm is pretty good, although I have used XP's firewall as well on some computers for the simplicity of it.

You could call your internet provider and ask them to give you a new URL. That would stop anyone that is hacking into your computer, at least for a while.

It's really hard to say what you got on your computer based on the info you've given us so far. But if your AntiVirus expired, lord only knows what you got on there, LOL.

You should probably keep your cable wire unplugged from your computer till you get it reformatted, and change all your passwords once you do.

the hacking is a long shot, you almost def have some kind of virus or malicious shit on your PC. Stay off the porn sites.

kidding

But yeah, download Ad-aware, Spybot Search and Destroy and AVG antivirus, keep them updated and run them AT LEAST once a week.

If it's a really ugly program, you may have to clean that HD because they pop up periodically and do their nasty deleting again.
