Ditto for me, I don't get HBO, but if I did, I would definitely be tuned in.

I heard about this on NPR this morning and it was very very sad. I would love to see this but alas, no cable. It's an amazing disease to have women believing something that is disproven by their very eyes.....

Yes, and researchers are getting closer to proving that it is not just psychological, but also genetic, which is great. Hopefully someday the gene is found.

It is sad. But it's not just society. And its not this glamorous trend that hollywood makes it out to be. Its a very painful and shameful disease. I really really believe for some it's their genetic makeup. Not for everyone. I mean for probably 70 percent of these people its a product of society.

But the girls/guys that get in so deep. That can't get out, the ones that die. A lot of its genetics. Do you know that out of the 10 % of people with eating disorders that it ends up killing them, 30 some % of those people had two or more family members with an eating disorder.

It's a scary disease, because its easy to get, psycholically. You don't know it till its too late. Plus not many people take it seriously.

I just finished watching the show it was very disturbing to watch these women struggling and fighting this battle with their self image and the lack of control they feel they have over their lives, my heart went out to them.

sad What happened with the divorced lady that had 2 kids or whatever?

she tried to comitting suicide but it failed, she later went back to the facility for more treatment.

it was very sad how all these women found all of these things wrong with them. it's like they are depressed, but they are blaming it on trying to stay thin where i think its a case of them not liking who they are as a person. i believe that you have to get to the root of the problem in order for them to overcome their personal demons. that was the one thing that i would sort of expecting the therapist to point out, or to bring it out of them, the true reason why they purge their food or starve...but i guess it's the not the therapist's job to force information out of them, they have to be willing to share. i just wish them the best and hope that they don't end up dying to this disease. especially the divorced woman with the two kids.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I couldn't believe it when she got home after they met for dinner you could tell what she was going to do... I thought she was doing well with her treatment but that just goes to show how deceptive and destructive the disease and behavior is. Like the young girl Brittany I think (her insurance ran out) listening to her in therapy talk about how she missed the destructive behavior because she was losing weight then and how she just wants to be thin...that was hard to watch she wasn't hearing anything the other ladies were telling her... she looked like she weighed eighty or so pounds as it was. It was hard to watch, I don't think I could watch it again.

Yeah, I don't think it's something you can get over unless YOU YOURSELF REALLY REALLY WANT to. It's all about lies. The whole thing is lies and deceieving people.
