I cry every time I watch this show! I must admit that I love Extreme Home Makeover home edition. I cry every single time I watch it but I love what they do for families. I know that they exaggerate the situations but I still love to watch it. It makes me appreciate what I have and it makes me thankful for the little things in my life. I love Ty- he is the most incredible guy- caring, compassionate and handy. What more could a girl want.. I also love to watch when Ed is on there too- he is wonderful as well.
I might be the only one here that enjoys this show much. it is heartwarming and it always has a new lesson to learn in every episode. OMG- I am crying again... I am always reminded that things could be worse and that we need to cherish every moment and every person in our life because things could change in a heartbeat.

Ignore him! That's a great show, though sometimes I question the improvements. The houses always turn out great, but sometimes they seem way overbuilt for the neighborhood they're located in. I always wanted to buy a fixer upper and re-do it inside and out, it's kinda of a fantasy of mine. No More Haters on the Internet.

Why? ok maybe not. But I've seen a few episodes of the shows and it always stikes me as a type of "O h look at how nice we're being by giving this family a new home, and all it required was them to be desperate enough to be willing to be exploited so we could pat ourselves on the back" show. Plus that carpenter guy needs a better haircut. It just doesn't work for him anymore.

My husband and I had talked about doing that- we sort of did that with the house he lives in now. Though we are seperated- I know that will still be a mutual dream of ours. I do balance out the sadness and real life drama by watching Family Guy following Extreme Home Makeover... [Edited 11/19/06 18:02pm]

I don't want any of thier crappy furniture and shitty finishes, they can keep that garbage. Cause thats right where it would go if they came to my house. Then I'd sue. Ty nekked, thats all. ..

I've always wondered who pays all the crazy utility bills and such now that they are living in such huge homes.
It costs a lot of money to maintain fancy homes like that.

It costs a lot of money to maintain fancy homes like that. Some times the home builder pays off the entire mortgage which helps or they raise a large amount of money for the family through the community. They use top of the line state of the art appliances and energy efficient systems throughout so it probably helps keep the cost down some for the families. I also heard that the families sign a contract before hand so they do not get stuck paying more then they afford. I do agree that some of these houses are really huge and way more then the families REALLY need but much of the things you see in the way of supplies like flooring is donated by the companies who get a free commercial.

They filmed an episode of that not far from me. It was all over the local news for like a week straight. The weird thing was, they don't let anyone into the house until the show airs, so it just sits there for several months.
