That's one of the things I'm most looking forward to, roast beef, leg of lamb, shepherd's pie, lots of good veggies... Traditional English cooking is delicious! I like that. really gross stuff like this: every country has their simple comfort foods - nothing wrong with beans on toast, marmite on toast, bacon sandwiches and the like. I eat beans on toast here quite a bit too. . [Edited 11/14/06 17:38pm]

I like that. oooh, now that's one thing I'm really looking forward to. I never actually get fish, but rather a large portion of chips (and it's usually huge!). I break the paper with my finger, open up enough of a hole to get in there, and just start snaffling those delicious fat saturated artery blockers. Plenty of salt and vinegar too.

Ok, I didn't really think that through. I must admit, one of my favourite things about the US was the food, but for meat eaters Britain is easily its match. Good ole cooking the way mum does it is pure heaven. I can't wait! . [Edited 11/14/06 17:43pm]

I'm started to get horny. go on. go on! Imagine a chilly winter day. There's no snow, but everything is covered with an icy glaze of frost. An Englishman, the abundant sunshine in the land of smiles having kissed his face every day for 3 years, lending his skin a soft tan, walks up the street. Steam rises from the portion of chips he just purchased, dissipating in the cool air, and his long supple fingers probe at the paper until it concedes to his touch and allows a hole just big enough to access the admittedly heart-attack on sight looking culinary delight that lies inside, waiting, anticipating the joyous consumption that will ensue. Walking home, plainly, boldly, in public, this man places chip after chip in his mouth, barely able to keep a satisfied smile from his lips... . [Edited 11/14/06 18:00pm]

I'm sure it must have been a stressful week for you up till this point. Thanks buddy. Yes, it has been stressful. Hell, it still is. We reserved our flight but haven't actually paid for it yet! (we couldn't of course, until we got the visa). And fuck me if we didn't leave it to the last minute. 8 more days and we'll be there. Still need to buy Mon a bag and some warm clothes, get my hair cut, get hers dyed, buy some hot wax for removing some unwanted hair, buy a couple of tooth whitening kits, give up smoking, settle up some bills, sort out leaving money here for Mon's parents, buy my father a birthday present, see my best friend before he flies to Singapore and lord knows what else!
