Humans are unbelievably fragile. Yet we feel invincible. We're idiots really.

I saw a guy get hit by a car and die; and old man.
The car hit him and his legs broke, flew up and twisted round his neck. His body then hit the windscreen of the car, which took off the top half of his head and sent the rest of his body flying up about 15ft in the air. He landed hard on the ground with a sickening crack and a whole pool of blood started pouring out of him quicker than I've ever seen blood flow before.

It's not like in the movies. confused

omfg that is awful!!!!! Did you get counselling?

It certainly is quite frightening to realize how easily the thread holding together one's will to live can become strained, or be broken. I believe that fragile, fine thread that connects each of us to 'life' also connects each of us to one another as well, and as human beings we should daily remind everyone that we are able of their relevence and importance in this world. There are those who fight a continuous battle to cling to that fragile thread and find reason to make it through one more day and into the next, which is why even a single kind word can make a such a profound impact on another's spirit.

rose to your grandmother. I hope she soon will be doing better.

No, my whole family saw it - including my 12 yo bro. We don't really need it tbh. For some reason we're a family of massive realists and it didn't really affect us much after the initial shock. It was horrible though.

I guess it depends on your character as to what needs to be done.

I think in your case because you saw it together and could "debrief" that was in effect your counselling. My housemate couldn't explain it to anyone, it was like nobody understood.

On a serious note I see several sad things that make me realize just how fragile we are, especially working and coaching at a school where the socioeconomic situation sucks. For senior night one of my players did not have an escort cause his parents had could not afford to buy a five dollar ticket. I have had students tell me they want to live with me because they would not have to worry about getting shot, pregnant, or beat. So life is short and fragile!

My mother in law, who is senile, has a remote control that goes to absolutely nothing. She keeps sending family members out for AAA batteries then fiddles with it trying to get it to work. Another family member lives with her (to keep her out of a nursing home) and I send food over everyday so they don't have to cook. If she's not kept busy with something, she starts thinking she wants to get in her car and drive to the grocery store, although we've taken her keys away and buy groceries for her.

He didn't have a head! He was just a jaw and a neck; his brains were all over the windscreen.

I wish *I* could get away with wearing a scuba suit. My flatulence is so bad they make me live in a bubble.
