Went to see it last week i didnt think it was amazing but i did get a few good chuckles.
Has anyone who has seen the film been offended by it,in particular any of our Jewish orgers?
I have seen a few message boards that have went into chaos because some Brits are saying how stupid Americans are.I just thought they were being patient with Borat.
I see the Frat boys who were in the mobile home are suing him for making fools of them

That's funny about the whole 'stupid american' thing- haven't they ever seen the episodes of Jackass where they go and antagonize people in Europe? Everyone responds basically the same way, no matter where they are.

It's fucking funny.

I hope to see it soon. I don't think the film is offensive towards Jews as Sasha Baron Cohen is jewish himself and trying to show that antisemitism as well as many other prejudices is still very much alive.

I'm familar with the Borat character from European TV, I was sort of always neutral to it although I do take tiiiiiny issue with him making fun of the people in Khazakstan. To begin with it's a central Asian country whose inhabitants look nothing like him. They are Asian with slanted eyes, whereas Borat looks more like he's from Turkey. Also some of my other friends feel a little put off because they feel like he's making (though maybe not intentionally) a jab at the Poles and eastern Europeans, their accents, lives in the countryside and so on. I'm still thinking about seeing the movie, though I already feel like I've seen enough of him on TV for the past couple of years to get the gist of what he's doing. And I already know how some of my fellow Americans at home are total idiots without ghaving to pay 7 euro for him to demonstrate some of the more mundane aspects of this

I don't think I can sit through an entire movie of the Borat character.

And I think if people are informed about Sasha, they'll understand he's not trying to offend Jews at all. He, after all, is a jew himself. I'm surprised more Arabs in general aren't offended though.

As for the America jabs, it's not like he's making this shit up. We are kind of dense at times.

I watched the "making of" the movie the other day, and while I did laugh at some parts, it got kind of old even just from watching that small portion.

I'm sure I'll see it eventually, but I know I won't see it in the theater. I just don't think it will live up to the hype after reading reviews (and your opinion as well ) that it's the "funniest movie ever made."
