Here all but the very wealthy dry their clothes on the line. The walls in front of the house have bricks with little holes in them and we put bamboo sticks through them to act as clothes lines. We also use those small clothes horses too. Back in the UK we always used a rotary clothes line when the weather permitted it.

A clothes line is a must have in this household. I launder the down blankets then line dry them. Put them in the drier on "air" for 5 minutes to fluff. Same with pillows. Part of the spring cleaning routine.
