moving to a new country, finishing high school, dropping out of university, moving into a house (I've always lived in appartments), those are the big ones

The most. I think my life changed the most, and has been on the same path since, when my church's choir director put a mic in my hand and put me out front at the age of 4 years old. Until I was a teen and moved onward.

Fauxie said: For better or for worse (wait, see how sweet that doubt is), quitting university and deciding to visit Thailand with a friend. That set in motion a chain of events that now sees me living here with a woman I love completely and utterly, but also I'm somewhat stifled creatively, career-wise, and haven't gained an education. Still, I wouldn't change anything. I can always try to put those things right, but finding love is not something so easily just attained with merely the desire and the effort.
well said- I agree my friend!

2003--Finding out I had breast cancer. It made me absolutely cherish everything, including mundane things that used to be annoying. Like my kids fighting over stupid things like who touched who. The dumb sayings that my husbands says over and over. The mounds of leaves that cover my yard every Fall. The first heavy snow of the year. You know, things like that.
I realized who my true friends were, and appreciated my family way more. I became more brave and did things I never thought I could do. I also paid attention to my health and stopped doing a lot of self destructive things. I stopped saying the word "hate."

working for Prince. the experience was brief, not at all what i expected or hoped it would be, but the opportunity alone showed me that dreams come true and it allowed me to see the person who had been a god to me in human form. that shift was probably what changed me the most. http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista

Did you punch him for all the grief he gives us? I would've taken one for the team and sunk a knuckle sandwich into his jaw. "Just try and do pop again, bitch!"

Was it more from something you learned from him or the fact that you made your own dream into a reality?

yes, the making it a reality part. When I think of experiences that changed my life, I think of mainly negative ones. But when I think of changing my life, I think of really positive things which are much more powerful, not really tied to events or circumstances but a spiritual attitude. And a living it out which happens every day.

Finding out that a family member who I was close to was gossiping about me behind my back (actually catching them in the act of doing it when they thought I was asleep upstairs). My attitude towards this person has and never will be the same ever again, since the level of trust and respect that I had for them has been totally broken. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
