What part of "IMO" and "in my experience," and "it just doesn't appeal to me" = "all Macs are crap and I'm stating this as a fact" in your brain? Are you implying that I'm projecting?

I have to say I've never been thrilled with XP. Before moving to OS X in 2001 my primary systems ran NT4 and Windows 2000. They were perfectly serviceable for the most part but I actually think I had better stability with NT4, and it was less picky about hardware changes underneath. I used the same NT install over 3 or 4 motherboard changes which was rather cool. The first time I tried that on Win2k and it took a big dump. I ran Vista on a test machine for about a week. It was the RC2 release, the last semi-public build before it went Gold/RTM. It's a very "pretty" OS but most of those whizbang features they were promising when it was called "Longhorn" back in 2003 are missing. MS is, also, trying to make it so that apps can't freely write back to their own folders in the Program Files directory. This is breaking some pretty simple apps in various ways. I'm predicting Vista is going to require more $$$ spent on upgrades than we've seen since the switch from Win 3.x to Win95. I, also, don't see the reason for such steep hardware requirements for all the eye candy (given OS X has produced some pretty fancy stuff even on lowly 233Mhz systems with 4MB video cards), or the need for 5 or 6 different version of the OS, topping out at something like $400 for Vista Ultimate Edition. But ultimately, my decision to go with mac is based on the fact that I love the look and feel of the systems. It's like buying a Audi TT. You don't do it becuase it's fast, or has a flip-top--plenty of cars fit that bill. You buy it becuase--hey, it's a fucking TT man!!
Nothing wrong with that. Look and feel is highly under-rated.

Nothing wrong with that. Look and feel is highly under-rated. I've only see screenshots of Vista, and I must say it's delicious looking. I won't be upgrading to it right away though--there's no reason to right now, unless it's proven to be more stable or software on the shelves start requiring it. I'm more excited about the upcoming version of Office. It's TOTAL bloatware of course but I love their office product when it works correctly.

I never said you were not entitled to express your opinion. And I concede that you don't appear to have enough technical experience to validate actual facts outside of a personal experience. But I never ever at anytime said your opinion was wrong. Ever. What I said was, it is not true that XP is as stable as you stated. I responded to that alone. I mean, if it upset you so much, pick up a book or google the information and when you open your mouth next time, you may actually have facts that will cause us to just nod our heads and say... very good! very good!

"fuck you" is much easier and conveys the point much better than rational discussion, in dealing with the likes of you, anyway. So forget it. And I guess I'll just have to concede to your superior maturity, which you've clearly exhibited by stooping to condescension when that clearly has nothing to do with the topic at hand and you know absolutely nothing about me.

I'm really concerned about your mental welfare. How did you point it out? By referencing AB's reply to your ORIGINAL post? By insinuating that "someone else started it first" What? As to the rest, I suppose I must spell it out for the children among us. You seem perfectly content to ignore the content of your own posts... the content that people were responding to, to begin with... Don't you find it odd that several people have popped on list saying they don't like Macs and no one has said a single thing to them... must be some logical reason why your posts were singled out... hmmmm. I find it hilarious that you're getting so worked up over this but thanks for making a few boredom filled moments pass more quickly.

One, no you're not. Stop with the condescension, and re-read post #63 again very carefully. Anyway, I'll break down slowly for you what I thought you'd be able to realize on your own. Before AB's post, no one had ever mentioned PCs in the thread, including myself. Therefore, it is incorrect to accuse ME of being the one to bring up that arguement. Maybe it's because I stated WHY I don't like them, which somehow you interpreted as an opportunity to argue those points. I KNOW you disagree. That doesn't mean you can tell me I'm wrong or imply that I'm lying just because you can't relate. I find it hilarious that you're getting so worked up over this but thanks for making a few boredom filled moments pass more quickly.

Yes I am! because you seem truthfully incapable seeing what you've posted... but oh well.. there's your age showing again! Therefore, it is incorrect to accuse ME of being the one to bring up that arguement.
No it isn't, you came into the thread offering nothing beyond play-school material and it was responded to in kind. You didn't have any valid input in your first post.... and your second one was no better. Like I said before, are you trying to blame AB for your attitude? Maybe it's because I stated WHY I don't like them, which somehow you interpreted as an opportunity to argue those points. I KNOW you disagree. That doesn't mean you can tell me I'm wrong or imply that I'm lying just because you can't relate.
You stated them as blanket facts, not opinions. Just because you slapped an IMO on one of the sentences doesn't change what came before or what you were saying as a whole. If you didn't mean what you said then you shouldn't have typed it like that and then get bent out of shape when people know it's not true. Taken at face value, the following comment, one of many, is untrue: "Apple: shit freezes, there's nothing you can do except restart the comp and lose whatever you were working on." This reflects on your lack of knowledge, and possibly getting stuck with a computer at work that no one takes care of... but, like it or not, technically it's untrue the way you've stated it. Going back and forth with the likes of you ain't really my style, but at least now I only have 20 minutes 'till my shift is over.
No, your style is just a lot of cussing...
