Totally annoyed.

So, my wedding date so happens to be in the middle of my period. Now, I'm sure you're all thinking, "big deal." I have no medical insurance presently, so I don't really have the money to go back in to some schmuck here where I live now, ask for some birth control pills, and then pay for them.

So, December 16th is a shit day, right smack dab in the middle of things.

To shorten this cos you all have tiny attention spans, Alex refuses to go get his day off switched to a couple of weeks in the future, so that I can consumate my marriage without blood. He doesn't see why I don't want to do it on my moontime. Well, here ya go:

1) I don't want to look back on my wedding night as a night of mess with horror movie amounts of blood.
2) It feels different.
3) It eliminates oral sex. At least for me. Cos even if he would do that, there's no fucking way I could be turned on with his face down there in a pit of blood.

FUCK.

"We can do it in the shower."

Well, we only get about 10-15 minutes of hot water. UGH.
This one's for you.

Aw man that sucks!!!

I had mine too. And like I don't even know when I'm supposed to get it, cuz I only get mine like a couple times a year, and only for a couple days. I dunno why.

But anyways, I got it like out first day in the bahama's, I was PISSED.

Don't U have any friends that are on the pill? Can't youlike borrow theirs or something?
(I was never on it, so I dont' know how this works) But aren't they able to prevent getting their rag or something?

are there no clinics you could go to so that your only cost would be the pills?
or vice versa could you pay for the visit and ask for a freebie?? say that you want to try a new one - they get free samples allll the time.

failing that... there is that internal cup thingy shrug

I totally wish I was Canadian right now. smile

I'm totally tempted to just tell his ass in the morning, that if he wants to be a stubborn cock about a 2-3 week postponement so it's past Xmas and I ain't bloody, then he needs to sit home tomorrow and figure out a clinic or some shit. Not to mention pay for it. rolleyes rolleyes rolleyes

I'm just disgusted.

Alarm bells.

I feel really sorry that your wedding day is in the middle of your period and, for some, it's unavoidable as they set their dates months or years in advance but it seems to me that you have a potential solution and your husband-to-be is being unreasonable if all it takes is for him to move his day off.

Personally I think you should stay strong on this and tell him you want the wedding date moved but can you compromise and move it by a few days rather than a couple of weeks?

Successful marriage is all about compromise and why wouldn't he want to make you happy on this day especially anyway?

I hope you get to change the date. It would be a big deal to me and I can understand why you are annoyed about it.

He is mostly concerned that I'm trying to stall. He's all nervous and excited. He'll break. Eventually.

Stress may naturally alter your due date to bleed

Also..there are many tribes that feel that your blood would only honor and make more sacred your union

... look into natural foods/herbs/oils that may be used to influence moontime shifts

and invest some time in the MOON light herself... it has a way of shifting your bleeding as well

The end of the period

A new contraceptive will soon let women stop menstruating. Is it the pinnacle of liberation, or a reckless experiment?

LIANNE GEORGE

For the average woman, life holds not two but three certainties: death, taxes and 35 years of monthly hormonal mayhem. Periods can be wretched. But from a young age, girls are comforted with the promise that the bleeding, cramping and radical mood swings are all part of the special alchemy of womanhood. Menstruation is -- to use the mother of all feminine-hygiene euphemisms -- a precious gift. Which is why the introduction of a new product that invites women to opt out of the whole ordeal is something of a cultural upheaval. Health experts are predicting that by this time next year, menstruation will no longer be an inevitable function but rather an optional feature, a bit like power steering or pay-per-view.

In 2006, a new oral contraceptive called Anya, developed to "put women in control of when or if they want to menstruate," is expected to hit the Canadian and U.S. markets.

is there a planned parenthood near you? They are very cheap and many of them have programs for uninsured people that will pay for your exam so that all you have to pay for are the pills. I think the pills run somewhere around $20-30 a pack and exams with a pap smear are around $100 or so. Prices vary in different places. They also have programs that will pay for your pills. Look into it: www.plannedparenthood.org

Good luck!

or you can just skip you placebo pills every once and a while. I tried to do it continuously once and that was no good, but every so often, it can be a good thing. wink
