Last House On Dead End Street (aka The Cuckoo Clocks From Hell)

The entire movie was shot on a couple thousand dollars, most of which the director spent on drugs. Some people make snuff films and sell them to wealthy people, to score some more money for drugs,

Koyaanisqatsi

Totally pretentious piece of crap. It's basically like watching two hours of stock video footage of daily living, bulldozers plowing land, clouds swooshing by, cars driving down a street, wild animals mating - all the while this obnoxious voice is yelling out "KOYAAAA-NA-KA-TSEEEEE!!!"... it's worse than a Radiohead DVD. Worse yet, they actually made sequels to it...

The cover was very promising, it said it was one of the BEST films ever made,so I rented it. I couldn´t even sit through a quarter of that boring, pretentious piece of crap.

The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover is one of my favorite movies!!!

That used to be one of my favorite movies too. All of Peter Greenaway movies are extremely weird.

A Zed and Two Noughts
Belly of An Architect
The Pillow Book
Draughtsman's Contract
Drowning by Numbers

Someone on the org recommended IRREVIRSIBLE. It has to be one of the many disturbing movies I've ever seen. Some of the scenes are just crazy.

I too saw THE COOK, THE WIFE, THE THIEF AND HER LOVER. Yuck! But I enjoyed it.

At the time, early John Waters was very weird for me although I loved all his earlier movies.

BTW, since you liked that, have you seen other of his works? The Audition?

Yes, there certainly is. Right at the opening of the movie I was like "whoa".

No, I haven't seen anything else. I only saw Ichi because of the guy I was with and he loves those kinds of movies.

Is The Audition any good?

Welllll....

It starts off like a love story, and you're thinking, "WTF, this is lame." Ehm, but then it turns messed up like Ichi. smile I found it enjoyable, at least.
This one's for you.

Ok, this one I was older when it came out.

Saw this in the theater.

and I was traumatized for life by this Naked Lunch thing:

Along with just about every late 70s and 80s horror and slasher movie. biggrin I'd rent them all after school when my parents were working. They were all rated R, but no one ever said anything at the video store. lol woot!

I thought Patch Adams was the weirdest movie I've ever seen. I didn't understand it, and it gave me nightmares. Do people really watch movies like this? What kind of mind came up with a script like this?

Call me conservative, but I'll stick with my David Lynch and Matthew Barney movies, thanks. At least I know what I'm in for with them.

do you mean you weren't supposed to because of being underage? or the film should have gone straight to video? or should not have been shown in a mainstream cinema?

shrug I always went out of my way to go to the weird cinema to see the weird films lol I saw Sex & Zen there (soft porn as "art" yawn ) I was over 18 though.

I saw the Reincarnation of Peter Proud with "Our Gang" - a group of childhood friends whom were all at least 4 years older than me, as well as with a unsuspecting adult. Soft porn and a topic I was too young at the time to understand. The ticket agent objected, but, I wanted to go tooooo... cry

Tears (in this case) to get a ticket into the film has got to be considered being sneaky, tA...lol wink

I didn't see either of these movies at the cinema and I don't really regret seeing them, but I don't think viewing them did much for my mental health:
