David Sedaris is cool, and i have two tickets to see him.. In a lecture/ reading at the Riverside Municipal auditorium in April of 2007. I just opened my mail right now and found out I got a free pair of tickets to see him lecture due to a donation of 200 bucks I made to some U.C. Riverside arts thing that I got in an alumni letter. (I did it purely as a tax write off and to see if I would get lucky and win and I did!) I love this guy. One of my all time favorite authors! Carpenters bend wood, fletchers bend arrows, wise men fashion themselves.

I am SO jealous.
David Sedaris is not only a great writer with a lovely sarcastic view on life, but also a great personality. Tell him Amsterdam could use another visit, please.

I'm gonna see his sister later this month here in Chicago!
I met David Sedaris at a book signing a year or so ago. He's very chatty and friendly. I was surprised.

How come? he seems like such a stand-off-ish, curmudgeonly person from his writing and his recordings. plus he reminds me of some people i know who are, uh, stand-off-ish and curmudgeonly. but i left the booksigning wishing i'd brought him a present or something. he was very cordial, especially considering the mammoth line of people there to see him.

Hehehe. He does that every time I went to a signing; takes some time for every one who is standing in line to get an autograph. I admire that in people, I mean, as Prince fans (who normally get spat in the face or just ignored or snubbed by their idol) we do recognise the wonderful part of people taking time for their fans. ALthough I must admit that Prince is crazy and his fans lunatic, for the most part. Not excluding myself.
