Now I'm just jaded and his music appears so boring, the lyrics mean so little. I mean - great you're singing about God, Jesus and Love with some fancy-pants metaphors...but it's nothing ground-breaking is it? The best Prince songs are his depressing ones like the Grand Progression. I still love them. He is a terrific performer live. I mean, really really good. And his shows used to be all different. You never know when or if he's going to rip into one of his hits, or what it's going to sound like. I will say that the Nine Inch Nails show in Germany circa 1993 was the best concert I ever attended. It was in a small club and I was up close. The show had energy and charisma that even Prince never inspired in a crowd. | |

Although when I saw NIN live, at that time in my life they were more important than ever and probably kept me alive to a grand extent. I experienced genuine euphoria at that gig. I went totally nuts, and everyone could see it and thought I was high on E. I wasn't crying, but my voice was all cracked and weird with happiness and I couldn't stop smiling. | |
