ok...Last Nights episode was very good. I just wish they all could be like that. I am glad to see the gals talking to each other. The only thing that bothers me is that there is no progression for any of the women or thier lives...except for Lynette. STill a good episode.

Love me some Laurie Metcalf nod

Um desperate housewives is a lot more REALISTIC than a show about superhero's confused

Hate to burst your soap bubble there...but there is nothing realistic about DH. It's about as fictional as you can get. Sure no one flys around, but that's about as grounded as that show gets.

I liked Lynette' dream meaning at the end of the show.

Don't ignore people. If you see someone, especially one of your friends, who might be going through something, talk to them. And don't feel bad about certain outcomes in life. As Mary Alice said, "you can't prevent what you can't predict."

I didn't watch every episode last season, so I'm kind of lost about the background of Bree's husband. I know he killed his wife. But did he kill that stewardess, Monique, too? And why did he run Mike down?

All of these questions we don't know the answer to. It has not been determined what he did to his wife.

Orson (Bree's husband) in a nutshell...came to the show as Susan's dentist, Susan referred Mike Delfino (plummer) to him, Mike thought he recognized him from his prison past...Orson denies it but you can tell he's lying...he befriends Bree at Susan's after Susan's house is burned to the ground by Edie...weeks pass...Bree has checked herself into a mental ward after her son slept with her AA boyfriend and she deserted him in the middle of nowhere...in the mental ward she finds out her daughter has run off with Alfie Woodwards killer son and she tries to escape and she see Orson visiting a woman (dont know who the woman is but I predict..part of this season's mystery)...Orson helps her escape...BREATHE...so then Mike Delfino at the end of Season 2 attempts to get with Susan (who is in a trailer out in the woods waiting for him)...as Mike cross the street Orson runs him over and the Season ends with Mike in a coma, Susan waiting, and Orson visiting Bree and her inviting him in....

CUT TO SEASON 3

Orson is rumored to have killed his previous wife..as accused by the crazy Ms. Bigsby (wife of grocery store owner)...turns out the body everyone thought was Orsons wife is a woman named 'Monique'...who Mr Bigsby has an affair with (Which led to last nights shoot out in the store with Ms. Bigsby intending to kill her husband and it leads to others being shot and killed)...few weeks back Bree's wedding is interuupted by detectives to take ORson to the station to identify his dead 'wife'...turns out it is not her but this 'Monique' character...LAST WEEK..Mike came out of a coma and Edie comes out to seduce him in a sexy getup and Mike has a vision of 'Monique' in that get up...MEANING...Mike, Orson, Mr.Bigsby all have a connection to this Monique....

WHEEWWWWW! So thats where we are now and I gotta say last nights hostage episode was incredible...it made my cry! It was so intense....but it was funny at the same time!

peace

And to add that after Bree decides to settle matters with Ms Bigsby, while off to the bathroom to "powder their noses" Mr Bigsby lets Orson in on the Monique thing...that he had an affair with her. Orson calls the police and tips them off that Mr Bigsby and Monique had an affair. One could suspect Orson had something to do with Moniques death and he is tryihng to throw them off the scent. It doesn't help that Monique had Mikes phone number written on her hand.

Thank you...I knew I had left something out...so much goes on with this show! This year is so much better than last season (even though I thought Season 2 pulled off the end of the season on a high note)...every great show has it's 'low' periods...turns out Marc Cherry gave alot of the writing responsiblities of S2 to others..this year..he took the reins again and is head writer of every episode...

I thought it was very clever how the whole hostage scene was mapped out...how everyone ended up there...and leave it to Bree to host a 'hostage veiwing' party in the middle of the day and all the neighbors knowing she would serve great food.

I laughed my ass off when Mrs.Bigsby made those 2 older woman walk to the back and recognized one of them and said 'Your sons in my class...great kid..now dont do anything that would make him have no mommy in the morning...now move it!'

and when she found Nora and Lynette and said...;'Ladies I'm having a bit of a bad day!'...I rolled off my couch....

I FUCKING LOVE THIS SHOW!

and I gotta add...the new neighbor is kind of yummy and creepy at the same time....rumors are he's a child molester and bonds with Lynettes children in the coming weeks.

I admit I haven't missed an episode yet. It's one of only three prime time shows I watch regularly.

How sad was it when Tom goes to Bree's house to drop off the kids totally oblivious to the whole situation at the supermarket? Everyone at Bree's house looked at him with their jaws on the floor.

Next week Julie gets it on with Edie's nephew. dancing jig

I like how Bree's daughter has jungle fever. lol

Yeah. The end really had me. Where Lynette goes over to see whats wrong with Mary Ellis. I have to admit when I see someones upset and I ask whats wrong and they say nothing, I let it go, cuz I don't wanna sound nosey. But maybe I should try harder to make sure other people are okay.

Oh, I know Danielle, thats awesome!!!

The entire episode would have affected me more if I had watched it alone, particularly the scene where Nora makes Lynette promise to take care of her daughter because she was the only good thing to ever come out of her life. But I watched it with my brother and his wife and I was being all manly.

Next week's episode seems very light-hearted, which is not surprising considering how heavy last night was. The one thing I remember was Susan catching Julie in a state of undress on the couch with Edie's nephew. Julie's gonna get some. dancing jig

A bit of a spoiler I read...next week Lynette and Tom will invite new neighbor Art over and Lynette will grow suspicious of him. Rumor has it he may be a convicted child molester and he will grow fond of either or one of Lynettes boys.

Plus...Orsons' mother comes to wreck havoc with Bree and more of the unraveling mystery starts to unfold when she says too much.

cant wait!

I know what you mean. My favorite films are tragedies where one half of a couple in true love dies at the end. I'm sure that's a reflection of how I feel about relationships in general--never lasting and futile. neutral

It's just a reflection of where your life is at the moment. That's only natural. At some point in the future you'll be in a REAL relationship not with some LOSER and you'll be tossing rose petals around and watching films with happy endings again. You'll see.

Word had it Cherry went on Sabatical after the huge success of season one. He was missed. I though DH took a terrible (almost ireppuable) turn last year. Alfre Woodard was a complete watse of talent and character.

This year is better. But they need to have those characters progress! Susan needs to have something to do other than hang on a man. Gabby...please she almost may be a lost cause. She has no depth. Maybe I forgot...but where in the heck is Shaomei again and Gabby's baby? Bree would never have married Orson but I am going with it. Lynette is the only one that has progressed. IMO.

Keeping them all connected is a key to the success of that show.

Totally agreed...I do like Bree and Orson...more than George..even though he had his moments.

Yeah...after they found out Xao Mai's baby was part black...they really have not showed either of them anymore...maybe Cherry was just wanting something to get those characters out of the picture...he does that alot.

Ricardo Chavira was on the View couple weeks ago and Joy asked him that very question about storylines never completely solved...he said Cherry sometimes intends for them to linger for awhile...some he wants to end right away ..and some they just forget about...there's always so much going on....

This was the case with Tom. Early in Season 1 his father visited and Lynette found out his father was an infidel. She said if Tom ever did that to her it would kill her...they cut to Tom looking mighty guilty of something. It wasnt til the end of Season 2/beginning of Season 3 that we find out about Nora and Tom's daughter Kayla....sometimes...they'll bring back the story long after they started....
