Aside from the fact that it's just damned embarrassing to sit through a full grown woman getting all "westsiiiiide" on us, it's also unbecoming of an orger in her position. We need to make an example of her and banish her to the Fan Gathering Forum for a few months! How many of you have to deal with mean people in your lives? How do you cope? Do you have a method for dealing with them, or is it a reactionary thing? I'm lucky in the sense that Muse2nopharoah, I'm don't deal with mean people. So I'll let this discussion be about two things: 1) Tell me your horror stories about Karen. 2) Tell me your experiences with meannesss. Have you been mean? NOTE: I realize this is going to be an uber heavily posted thread, so please allow everyone to post. Thank you. Yes, there can be a lot of negativity from orgmembers, but most of it is positive. We're all here 'cuz we love Prince, right? However, there was one particular example from NPGMCOnline.com that really got me in the dumps. It seemed a group of people in a forum teamed up on me, posted some downright nasty stuff, and the more I tried to stay positive and turn the tide, the nastier it got. So I stopped responding to them. One by one, they fell, and it finally stopped. They didn't have anything to bounce against. Inside, I was dying, and became grumpy for awhile, but I got over it. Then, the web-site closed so I didn't have to deal with it anymore anyway. So, I started posting over here, decided to start over, and things are much better. I try not to make negative posts, because I've decided that negativity attracts negativity (the same can be said for life in general. Garbage in, garbage out, and all that.....) One thing I experienced recently, and I got myself into it, mind you, is that I asked for feedback from a lot fans on an idea I had. Big mistake. I wasn't ready for people to react negatively to my idea. I'm such an idiot, because would you believe it never even crossed my mind that people wouldn't like my idea? Well, some orgers said some icky things to me, and inside it bothered me. Then a couple of days later, in a totally unrelated thread, I lashed out at a seemingly innocent 'fam', embarrassing myself in the process, and probably hurting him/her. So long story short (a little late for that now, right?), I created a negative experience to someone else because it had been created in me. Now, I try to not take negative remarks personally, because ultimately, you can't change a person, or control what they say. That whole thing was a fake? Now you see how naive I can be! The hardest thing about posting (or writing in general) is that what you put in print becomes your legacy. For instance, people don't understand sarcasm unless YOU MAKE THE WORDS REALLY BIG, "or put them in quotes", and even then, people may or may not understand them. That's why emoticons are so much fun!!!!
