I'm on a plane next week.People need to understand that MORE PEOPLE DIED on the ground than in the air.As for Sept.11.It will be a normal day for me.People die everyday
if i mourned(in a ritual every year) for everyone that died i would have no time to live.I feel for those who lost someone close to them.But for me life must go on. | |

I will be flying back home to NJ on the 8th to attend memorials to be held at Ground Zero. I CAN'T ever forget... Being an ER/ Trauma nurse, I know several killed (EMT's, Paramedics, and Port Authority cops) and friends with family members killed in the 9/11 attack on WTC. It wracked my heart then, and will forever. I am reminded of it every time I fly into Newark airport where I was once greeted by the NY skyline, easily recognized in the past by the twin towers. Now the void is just always a reminder of that terrifying day. I couldn't be anywhere else but home...in the the middle of the place that stole my last shred of innocence and security. I think other Americans can identify with the feeling of being somewhat 'untouchable' on our home soil prior to 9/11...No longer...never again.  and
