dark urine is indeed a bad thing. nod

My body is switching to a ketone based metabolism right now. During the first 3 to 5 days, it will dump a whole lot of wast and toxins from my fat reserves, and this will seep out my lungs (Bad breath), skin (stinky underarms), and urine--fowl smelling urine.

After 5 days, it clears up. My tongue will be coated in a white film for the duration of the detox, and when it starts to turn pink again, is when the toxins are mostly dumped. Alot of times, hunger will return once the tongues clears.

The whiteness is due to sulfer and some other compounds seeping out of your system. That results in awful breath.

Some medication needs to be taken with food for it to be digested properly. I mean, they all say "take at mealtimes" but of youre fasting its like the extreme opposite of doing that.

Thats all I can think of....ask a doctor nod Although I'm guessing in my unknowledgeable position that they would tell you not to fast anwyay?

nod a fast would suggest an approach to heal my body through nature rather than pharmaceuticals, and where does a doctor make money in that scenario?????

i can take my drugs on an empty stomach, so that's not so much a concern as the point of the fast is to flush everything out. i've got a blood pressur emonitor at home. i'll keep an eye on how it goes.

Fasting will cuase your blood pressure to drop significantly.
This is often the reason people who get up to quickly from a seat or bed feel light headed--it's because of dramatically lowered blood pressure.

You should seek guidance from a doctor, perhaps one that practices homeopathic therapy.

Obviously daft question, but what do you do in public, at work, etc? Don't you feel like you'll pass out due to hunger pangs? Just keep drinking then, or...?

I assume the first time is significantly more difficult than the rest?

monday will be my first time. i am following on the heels of a couple of co-workers who just finished. the first few days were rough, but energy levels came back up after a few days. the bigger problem was the sometimes urgent need to get to a bathroom!

The first time for me was more difficult than the rest, but I was also very sick when I did it. I had Sinusitus (I mistakenly called it bronchitus on another thread. lol), and nothing was working, so I took to a fast. By the third day, my caughing ended, and by the 5th day i was totally cured.

Most people experience more problems on the first fast, becuase they are so toxic, and never underwent one. Imagine all those toxins from youth in your fat cells just sitting there, then being released in a number of days. Your kidneys & liver work overtime to produce keystones and filter junk.

But I will say this... The day after each of my fasts, I've felt like and often looked like a new person. The first fast took 10 years off of my appearence.

Here's a picture of me a few weeks after that fast... I don't have a before picture, but I can say that I had pimples and blemishes prior to the fast, and was ill before it.

You do look great in that pic, and it all sounds really beneficial. I know I've plenty of toxins from smoking and drinking in particular that need cleaning out, but my concern is weight loss. I'm currently a good 5 kgs under a decent weight and about 7 kgs under my perfect weight, so I can't really afford to just stop eating.

That's fantastic. My dermatologist told me "off the record" that fasting is the only thing that works to keep her skin clear. I'll seriously do it for that alone. I'm reading the first link you posted (http://www.falconblanco.com/health/fasting.htm)--when it's time for the third phase, what juices do you suggest a person drink? I'm crazy obsessed with V8, but don't know if it'd be appropriate. Obviously, other whole juices not from concentrate or with sugar/high fructose corn syrup, etc would seem appropriate, but are you aware of what's best or what you've found most effective? Thanks. wink

You can achieve similar results over a longer period of time eating raw foods and tons of berries (strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, etc.).

You ass!

I missed that. Erm..
I don't know about the phases, becuase I dive right into it.
I just go straight for a water fast, and it normally lasts between 1 and 3 days, with me breaking it due to schedule or that my body is just telling me it's time (something you'll just kind of figure out).

I break the fast normally with a fruit salad, and juice. Warning, about 20 min or less after the first meal, you're gonna take a very quick liquidous shit.

lol See, I have no idea during the week when it'd be best to start. I'm scared, but it's good to know yours only last a few days. The fuckers on this website are quite hardcore. 21 days!! Of course you're euphoric after 21 days, you're shitting out chunks of your brain tissue!

And thanks for the warning.
