confuse That must be the NEW New York.

Outside of these...

You hopped the turnstile and got chased by police.
You know how to get to Eastern Parkway.
You've ever been to a Basement Party.
You don't answer your door on Sundays because you know it's a Jehovahs Witness.
You know handball, double-dutch and Skelly are hood classics.
You shop on Jamaica Ave., Pitkin, Knickerbocker, Fulton St, or Delancey St.
You remember the Blackout of 2003. (I remember it but I wasn't there.)
You remember the original Bus Passes with R/S on them.
You go on journeys on ya bike
You know what it mean "messin wit" or "fuckin wit" somebody is

...I was born and raised there and don't know any of that other stuff. lol

A few for the Old-School New Yorkers...

You walked from subway station to subway station through the tunnel. pimp2

You know what "skips" are.

You had a pair of "floaters".

You know what a Sabrett wagon is.

You know what icees are (cart style).

You've hung out on the corner of Church & Flatbush Ave. (B'klyn only).

You know B'klyn is how you abbreviate Brooklyn.

You were in an "SP" class.

You know how to jump and open hydrants.

You had a "skate key".

You had egg creams, knishes, hot pretzels with mustard after school on a regular basis.

You made the trek to Coney Island for a Nathan's hot dog, krinkle-cut fries and an orange drink.

You made your own subway/bus pass.

You could stand up on & jump out of a moving swing.

You know how to climb a chain link fence with a barbed wire top.

You shopped at E.J. Korvettes, Crazy Eddie's, Gimbel's, Woolworth's, Macy's, A&S, etc.

You knew that Safeway was the supermarket.

You've eaten at a Horn & Hardart's Automat

Your wardrobe included gators, raw silk & mohair

You had a "Quo Vadis" haircut (males)

You know how to make a serious "phony phone call"

You know that stickball, stoop ball and "bootys-up when you lose" handball are neighborhood classics.

You know how to fill your skelly top with street tar for weight, accuracy and blasting power.
(also Thunderbird, MD 2020 and other lo-grade wine bottle tops were better than soda bottle tops)

...All for now. (Eee-ah-kee)

hmmm Where the hell is Finesse to back me up?

Preach it! I grew up in the South Bronx, St. Mary's Housing Projects(take the 2 or 5 to Jackson Ave.).

I was born in 1961, so I remember being in the old Yankee Stadium. Now that's old skool!

I remember Korvette's too! We shopped at the one off Bruckner Blvd and White Plains Road(Soundview section). In fact, I don't live far from it.

My Dad would always shop at the Korvette's in downtown B'klyn.
There's a perpetrator out here ripping off Crazy Eddie's vibe called Crazy Gideon.
