trust over the internet...

would you lend money to someone you've met online only?

would you send them something if they promise to pay for it?

would you ask someone for money?

A. I don't lend money if I give money it is with the expectation I will not get it back, if I do then it's gravy.

B. If I can send something to someone I do not expect to get anything in return if they send me money for it again that is gravy.

C. NO.

I don't ask anyone for money, I can't imagine a reason that would change so drastically that I'd ask someone I don't even know for that kind of help.

As for loaning money to someone I only knew online? Probably not. I can't imagine a reason for that, either. I have given gifts to friends online before and I've donated to causes for people I don't know well (e.g. a friend's brother-in-law was in a car accident, landed in a coma for 3 weeks and will have a long, difficult recovery. I'm donating to help with medical costs.), but I can't think of a reason I'd wire someone I don't know all that well cash.

If you're a friend, I'm quite generous, however. If you need help, I'm willing.

And I can't think of anything I'd ever sell. lol I have very little possessions of any value or worth to anyone. So it's really not something that would ever happen.

Once someone proposed to buy some of my drawings on internet, I was so happy for few days until I received another mail from the site telling me it was a spam confused

I could give money via internet, but I'd never ask for.

Unfortunately, our society has degenerated to the point where someone's word hold little value.

So NO on all accounts.

No, no, and no. Someone asked me before if I can loan them some money, and I was like No. I suggested them to ask their friends, relatives, or hell even go to those check cash places.

probably not, unless someone else who knew them in 'real time' were starting up a collection or something.

no. if i send something, i do so with the realization that i may never get anything back.

no. but i rarely if ever ask for money from people in the nonline world.

I'm pretty good at reading people so when I have trusted people online it hasn't led to any problems...yet.

Maybe.

Maybe.

No.

I'm pretty trusting. Not because I'm naive, just because I prefer it to the alternative view of the world.

I don't like asking for money, though. Ew.

I won't get into details about it, but it's different I think when you have a legitimate business and you are not being paid on time. (which is the case here) And it does happen more than you think when you freelance as well for a new client. Especially one you've "met" online. In this case, I was just very trusting and gave the person in question the benefit of the doubt though. I have good word though that he'll be coming through for me very soon though, so that's good. nod

even if u meet the person why should that make it any less problematic?

there was a girl on peoples court who met guy from myspace , banged him first night,
loaned him $300 or 400 for rims and then obviously ended up in court.
