Start out clueless? I know women who are in their thirties still dating "bad boys".

That's their problem. Who gives a shit whether they're doing it?

So are you agreeing with Spats?

I'm sorry, I'm unable to determine how you see this. I'm acknowledging him while trying not to insult him. I agree that there are women out there who might choose the wrong person. I have no idea how many, and I don't care how many. What I was doing was telling him that his claiming that all women are the same is hilarious.

I thought you had meant that women would date jerks at some point (like spats was claiming), then learn from their mistakes and move on...

And I'm talking about extrememly overweight people before anyone jumps down my throat..... biggrin
[Edited 11/2/06 13:48pm]

Unhealthily overweight individuals who work hard to become fit and healthy are to be admired for it is a wonderful accomplishment and takes effort and dedication.

What I find sad is how many in today's society extoll the idea of "beauty" as the end-all be-all of human accomplishment, and who put physical perfection first in exclusion to almost all else. Caring about one's appearance is one thing; obsessing over it, holding it above all else in terms of importance, relying solely on it, and believing it somehow makes one elite or more deserving is another.

Physical beauty can bring out so very much ugliness.

No, it does not. I am not saying anything to get a rise. They are my honest opinions. And accurate ones. The facts are out there. Go out on the dating scene. They are everywhere.

Again, you're generalising based on your life experiences and assuming that that rings true for all other 5,999,999,999 humans on the planet, but you're wrong. You're so unbelievably wrong it's not true. You're encased inside your little bubble of comfort that is the society and culture you experience as you see it and applying it to a bunch of people from all over the world. Life just isn't that simple, Spats. It just isn't. You'd do far better not to voice your opinions when you clearly, and you do clearly - if you say otherwise you're lying through your teeth - see that it annoys people.

I agree.

We place too much emphasis on the superficial. It cuases unhealthy or overweight people to either be defeated by it or to develope a denail of it all together--to say that what's on the inside is all that matters or determines beautify--which is also totally false.

I would much rather see Luvall7 naked than alot of orgers on this site, based on her looks alone. But this is not to say that I do not find beauty in those that don't look like her.

I look around me everywhere and I see these overweight, unhealthy people, who extoll the virtues of not caring about looking like "barbie" when they aren't really looking at how sad and depressed they themselves look. Depression and larthagy can be worn on a man in the form of excess weight moreso than a sad face, in my opinion. Being overweight to me is not something that makes us depressed so much as a manefestation of depression itself. Most people who are overweight did not get there eating baby carrots and running 5 miles a day.

Well in a super model's case sure. They both pay off. Law and modeling. If I could choose being a lawyer or a model, I'd pick being a model anyday. Just cuz thats what I have more interest in.

And there is no reason that people can't do both anyway.

Look at what Dan wrote. He clowns around, but he is a smart guy. He is successful, fun, AND good looking. Theres no law that you can't be good looking and a good person at the same time.

of course there's no reason that people couldn't be both intelligent and good-looking.

i'm just surprised that you would put putting energy into one's own look at the same level as somebody studying hard to help others.

Preach. Overweight people (overweight due to negligence) shouldn't receive pity, but eating disorders and carelessness are no different than alcoholism or drug use. It's not always just laziness, unfortunately. confused

Well, the theory I've heard is that women are attracted to the self-confidence of the jerk, ie. the jerk's personality. So an ugly jerk could still be successful because of his jerkish personality.

The best thing about good looking people who are assholes about it is that beauty fades and one day they will wake up in a world of decrepetness unable to play the only game they learned and they suffer evillol
