No everyone loved Eko...fans that is. Word has it he wasn't too liked on the set.

He was a flat, one dimensional character to me. Boring, and a wast of a talented actor. Even when he gave his final non repentant monologue it felt like I was watching Brigette(sp?) Nielson doing a screne reading of Red Sonya.

exactly.....really, what did Eko add to the story? What did his death contribute to the story? All I see is that some clues and storylines died with him: the drug-plane with his brother on it that crashed on the island before Oceanic 815, the bad african-mofo turned priest, yada yada yada.....I'm starting to get pissed off..... anyone remember Ana Lucia? Libby? Fuck, they're gone and all the stories go with them.....I foresee (in a couple of seasons) Charlie being the only left-over survivor together with Claire's baby Aaron, and Charlie will be telling bed-time stories to Aaron about the times that he was chasing Elijah Wood's ass as a hobbitt in Lord Of The Rings.....and we'd still be watching..... sad

He added a lot to the story. I think we need to remind ourselves it is Just a story. People don't have to further the plot. I mean what has Hurley or Charlie or Claire done? Nothing. They are part of the story. They are characters. EKO and Locke certainly had moments...and they were good ones. EKO's character brought a spirituality to the show. Jack: Science. Locke: Faith. Eko:Spirituality and Religion.

Eko helped John find the ? which led us to the Pearl. Libby obviously figures into it as she gave Desmond the Boat and was in the Mental Hospital..though we don't know why. We are supposed to find out more about her through flashbacks.

It's just a story and a long and slow one.

I thought it was funny.

The plotlines of Lost remind me alot of the sudden plot twists of Twin Peaks.

Twin Peaks was cool not really for its storyline but for the way it was filmed an the imagery.

When Bob crawled out from the couch to kill the look alike cousin I almost screamed. That shot with the strobe lights and the white stallion and Bob, gave me nightmares.

First of all, let me state my total love for Lost. The only show I can ever remember actually making sure that I watched every week (when it's on). Everything about this show is perfect, IMHO.

Regarding the new couple that was introduced. The writers have created a brilliant story line. I don't think they are going to bring two characters that were in the background to the forefront unless there's a very good reason.

When Eko was being thrashed around, I was shaking my head, and saying to my son..."he's not going to survive this." He was a great character and played it with intensity. I loved the scene in his flashback where he killed those militia men. Though it was brutal, it was badass..."You don't know who I am!" I'm glad to hear that he wanted off the show himself. Some people at ABC's message board are saying that he got written off because he was arressted for some minor offense and the show's producers kill off anyone who's been arressted (i.e. Libby and Ana Lucia).

I heard the other day that Lost will only be on for one more year. Has anyone else heard that?

LOST appeals to me in the same way with the filming. I love to watch and point out "LOST Shots". Notice how many of the face shots are close up and to the side.

Davis would be old school as he used common things to make the shot. A strobe here, red lights there. He was very clever. He of course did not have thee technology as LOST does, but he made scenes stand out from just how they looked. Even with LOST, there are some sets and scenes that will never be bested like the red room in the Black Lodge.

Bob has made me scream as well. I don't normally scream but the scene in fire walk with me where he is behind Lauras bed looking at her..It's the first time he is shown in the movie. Here's the wierd part...I dreamt/nighmared BOB before I saw him in that movie, which I saw beofre watching the series.

Not entirely, but there have been many times Lost has creeped me out...i.e the orientation films.

I too have a complete respect and Love for this show. It's one of the few shows that really TRIES to be as good as it can. Visually, acting, scripting, etc. Sure, they aren't perfect and take the occasional misstep...and it is a long long story....sometimes to a fault. Another thing is many expect it to go one way or another and don't give in the the story being told. Like many are asking what was the point of the tailies now that most of them are dead. There are MANY points I won't go into, but it was a compelling story. That's what matters.

One has to have patience. I think it's hard for people to have the kind of patience LOST demands. We've been bombarded by brainless reality TV junk for a long time now. LOST has almost single handedly brought back scripted shows to TV and for that I am thankful. Reality TV has it's place but it has gone way too far.

Paulo and Nikki have been introduced in the worst way. I am not sure I like them just yet, nor do I see their relevence. They were supposed to have been voices of dissent when the news of Jack and the rest came back. Though that could have been a false statement. Their flashback I hear is coming up and it will be showing what they were up to while the main cast have been doing their thing. It will be interesting to see thier perspective and see how they as background characters have been coping. Maybe they have had their own monster moments etc... Or what did they think of the hatch. It will confirm a few theories that we have been thinking about like they will have had their "Dave" and "black horse" moments. I just wish their story could be told in this 6 arc...but they had to show the stories they did. I hope Hurleys will show him getting back to camp, as it wasn't explained either.

I have only heard that it will be going for 5 seasons. That's what the writers want.

It does. CLaire is the Island Beautician. I agree though, his hair should be like the shaggy DA.

Also, why is Charlie's hair evolving into one of those "new mullet" do's? The new mullet didn't start catching on until last year. And this show is taking place supposedly in 2000 or 2001. confuse

It just seems these folks know way too much about hair to be plausible characters. I hate this show now. neutral
