Can somebody please tell me why JerseyKRS is *watching* Top Gun? And not fast forwarding through the volleyball scene? I mean, I had no clue there was a volleyball scene, it's been so long since I"ve seen it.

I'm getting the feeling Jersey thinks he's Tom Cruise and that he has the hots for Val Kilmer.....go, Maverick!!!!!

It's a metaphor. Or an allegory, if you will.

You have the net (that represents the wall between the civilians and the airmen, the wall between the different squads etc)); then you have the beautiful beach (that represents the sexy but competent trainer played by whatshername); then there is the game itself (that represents the intense high-pressure situation in which those guys find themselves every day).

Then there is the volley ball.

That represents Tom Cruise's testicles.
